·       Licence for Registered Importer

The animal owner must be registered for import of dog/cat at the Swedish Board of Agriculture.

-Compiled Vaccination Certificate: (Forms are enclosed with the Licence for Registered Importer.) An authorized veterinarian shall make a compilation of the vaccination certificates and the result of the blood-test.

-Veterinary Health Certificate: (Forms are enclosed with the Licence for Registered Importer.) An authorized veterinarian in the country of export (not in Sweden) shall clinically examine and deworm the animal ten days ore less before import into Sweden.

The Compiled Vaccination Certificate and the Licence for Registered Importer do not have the same period of validity. This is not practicable, since the Licence for Registered Importer is valid for one year from the date of issue, whereas the Compiled Vaccination Certificate is valid only as long as all relevant vaccinations are so.

Import must take place at a point of entry manned by the customs authorities and be reported to the said authorities. The Licence for Registered Importer, the Compiled Veterinary Certificate and the Veterinary Health Certificate shall upon request be presented  in the original to the Swedish customs authorities every time the border  is crossed (telefax or photocopies of these certificates are not valid for import).

Important: The dog/cat must be imported directly from an EU/EFTA country into Sweden.
