1. You will need to send us 1ml of serum or 2ml of clotted blood from your pet. Samples coming from abroad we would prefer if you posted us the 1ml of serum rather than the clotted blood.
2. All samples should come in a well padded leak proof container. On the outside of the package it should have written Canine/Feline samples no commercial value, Import Licence IAPPPO/Gen/94/52, and the classification code is 3002109900. We would also advise you if the samples are coming from abroad to use a reputable courier that way the sample can be traced from when it leaves to when it arrives at BioBest.
3. I have attached a submission form for you to get your Veterinary Surgeon to fill in this must accompany the sample. This form is also available from our website www.biobest.co.uk. Our website will also provide you with more information on the rabies testing.
4. Non EU countries: Payment in Sterling of £32.50 should accompany each sample.
EU countries: A VAT number must be included with a Sterling payment of £32.50. Where no VAT number can be supplied payment of £38.19 must be included with each sample.
- When we receive the sample we will have the result in 2-3 days we will then post the certificate back to you normally by recorded airmail. If you have an e-mail address I can let you know when we receive the sample and what the titre level is of your pet when we have it.
- There is no set time limit from date of vaccination to the time when the blood sample is taken. Most people take the sample 1 month after vaccination.
