Human Service's Classes

What is Human Services?
According to my college cotalog,this program emphasizes skills needed in working with clients such as interviewing, determining eligibility for services, making appropriate referrals, and assisting with counseling. When the program is completed, students may find employment in a wide variety of settings, including public and private social services agancies, treatment centers, group homes, institutions, hospitals, supported living and work programs, and state or county departments of social services.
私の学校のカタログによるとクライアントとやりとりするのに必要なインタービュー の仕方、色々なサービスにおいての各クライアントの適性判断、適切な照会、 カウンセリングを行うことによってクライアントを助けるというような必要な 技能を強調したプログラムである。このプログラムを終了した学生は生活援助 プログラムに携わったり、自治体又は私営の社会サービス機関、更生施設、 グループホーム、施設、病院等の仕事に携わるだろう。（以上上の訳）。 Human ServicesはSocial Work(社会福祉）学部と同じである。私はこの勉強を 始める前、社会福祉士になる＝老人関係施設で働くと思っており、アルコールや 薬物依存症患者、社会的弱者（ホームレス、低所得者、シングルマザー、 老人、子供）について浅く広くその分野を勉強するという授業の内容に戸惑った。 そしてこの学校のこの専攻の売りが薬物依存症患者への為カウンセリンラー の養成プログラムでクラスメートのほぼ半分が将来その仕事に就くを希望していた。 そして子供をもっている生徒が多いので子供関係の仕事を希望する人が多く、 ちなみに老人相手の仕事を希望しているのは私だけだった。
