There is this boy standing still.Just take a look at this picture. In 1945 Nagasaki, just after the atomic bomb were dropped in the city in southern part of Japan.
I wonder if this sort of thing is still taking place in Iraq or in Sudan today. As a member of golbal community, we have to be aware of what is going on and take some action to uphold the peace and justice. Fighting for basic human rights & against poverty is a starting point and perhaps the most urgent arears that need immediate attention. As a student in the UK, back in 1989 I joined Amnesty International recommended by my good friend Chris (today he is Dr Hood of Cardiff University's Director of Japanese Studies Centre). I remember writing letters these days to request for release of prisoners of conscience and against the capital punishment. Since I left the UK, for the past 10 years I did not do any Amnesty work. Recently, I have been writing letters to political leaders for some urgent human rights matters. Thanks to the technology of today, I can just copy & paste and email!
Report after report, we realise that we do not live in a perfect world. But we cannot give up today. We must plant the seeds of peace & justice for the future generations. Most of us want to make this world a better place. Whether he or she is a politician, police officer or whatever. We can easily forget about those challenges but we got to address the matter when it can affect the wellness of our global community. There is no single solution. We have organisations such as the UN & Governments, NGOs & pressure groups, foundations backed by business community, world-wide churches and religious groups, artists & entertainers all working together to promote world peace & cooperations. We still have the hope as long as we know that we are all brothers & sisters of this beautiful plannet. As a custodian (not the owner) of our plannet, we have the duty to manage and pass it to the future generations in good and better shape! The success depends on each and every one of us. United We Stand to bring and maintain world peace.

Imagine there's no countries,
Imagine no possesions,
