'Forever Fever'
1.I'd like to review the movie about Disco. The title of the movie is 'Forever Fever'. As you know from this title, this is Asian version of 'Saturday night fever'.
2.Situations are in Singapole 1978. Actually 1978 was a year when 'Saturday night fever' literally had great fever among young people all around the world. The main character 'Hock' is working at a supermarket like Travolta in Saturday night fever. One day with his choldhood friends he happen to meet 'Saturday night fever'.At first, he didn't have any interest in it, but he was shocked at the dancing of Travolta and he started to go to dance school with his childhood friend. After this basically plot is same as 'Saturday night fever'.
3.But of course 'Forever fever' has different point. And I'm so interested in this difference and this is the goal of the directer. I can even say that tofocus this difference the directer traces the plot of 'Saturday night fever'. In 'Saturday night fever',the theme of dream and reality in America is described and Disco is symbol as a place they can forget their reality. So the directer describes dark realistic side. For example,Saturday night fever describes death of friend, but 'forever fever' cuts the serious scenes and if there are more comical ones. But the most impressive difference is the way of treating the childfood friend Who's a girl.In saturday night fever Travolta separate from the choldhood friend and is starting with new one but on the contrary in Foever fever Hock come back to his childhood friend. I'd not like to say which one is better but this is the difference of thinking between America and Asian society. As the words 'American dream' shows, in America the real world is often about what to overcome and they have a strong will for a better future. On the contrary, for Asian people the real world is not what to overcome but to 'accept'.Both society has their own way of happiness and way of life.
4.After watching this movie, my impression of 'Saturday night fever' has changed. So I recommend you to watch both of them and compare the difference. This is one good way of watching a movie, I believe.

課題:ホラーな話を書いてくること。
コメント:書き上げるのは2時間弱くらい、構想は1週間思い出した風に。
やっぱアイデアを寝かせる、って言うのはこういう風にやるんだなと言ういい経験になった。

On that night, the humidity and the heat - it’s peculiar to Japanese summer- was special. As usual, I went upstairs to sleep but there was no breeze that night which made me stop my foot, and then I slept on the floor. Usually, you don’t feel and existance of an air around you, but I certainly felt not only existance of the air but also weight of the air. The air stick to me ? that was the feeling I felt. And certainly I fell asleep but to be accurate, just my body was asleep and my mind was not asleep.

At that time ,  I realized yellow lights came through the window. The yellow lights went on and off slowly. ‘Ambulance car ? ’ You sometimes experience a scene someone was brought by an ambulance car at midnight, but this seemed not that situation. I got up and saw outside through the window ? one car was stopping under a weeping widow. Midnight in summer, weeping widow ? these were typical obsolete Japanese horror story. And that made the situation unreal. The yellow lights were the lights of the car. ‘ The police ? ’ I felt the situation about someone else’s one.

The driver who was elderly and small , wearing black suits got out form the car and walked in the direction of my house , and at the moment our eyes made contact .The situation was not someone’s one but mine. ‘ Excuse me sir , your grandpa is coming……..’ The moment I heard this words , I was so shocked . My grandpa had already died at that time ! ‘ My grandpa ? ‘ ‘ Yes , your grandpa . ‘ I didn’t accept the situation ,but I followed the man and we went to the car . From the back seat another elderly ? to be accurate old man came out . I gazed at the two strange men’s face in the dark. To tell the truth , the faces in old age in the dark were somehow weird .

‘Ojisan ! ‘ ? in Japanese “uncle”.

I realized who he was. He was a brother of my grandpa. It was certain that he was my grandpa. I helped his walking and went into my house. And my family got up and came to us. The answer is my grandpa told a lie “ I go to hospital ! “ and came here. He had weakened his legs and stayed at his home but that seemed very stressful to my grandpa. And my house was where he had lived for a long time. He was a little senile and it was the first time after five or sic years he could come by himself. He seemed to feel my house is his true home.

We talked together half asleep. It was the last time before he went. Maybe already when we were talking we had realized that was the last. But we were not sad. We were even happy. Because everytime we thought of him, we could remember this impressive night.
