2.久しぶり！


「久しぶり！」と日本語では一言でいえるのに、英語で言うのは意外に難しいです。
イメージ的には「（最後に）会ってからしばらく経ちましたね。」という感じに
表現すると良いと思います。

Long time no see. 「久しぶり。」くだけた表現ですが、特に失礼な印象は
ありません。
It's been so long. 「久しぶり。」 so long を a long time に変えて表現できます。
I haven't seen you for a long time. 「しばらく会ってなかったね。」というような表現。
for a long time をfor ages にすることもできます。
It's been a long time since I saw you last. 「最後に会ってからだいぶ経ちましたね。」
It is the first time I have seen her for 5 months. 「５ヶ月ぶりに彼女に会うんだ。。」
It was the first time I had seen him in ages. 「久しぶりに彼に会ったよ。」
It will be the first time we've met each other for a long time. 「久しぶりに皆で会うんだ。」
How have you been ? 「どうしてました？」に当たる表現。
久しぶりに会った人には
How are you ? ではなくこちらを使いましょう。
答え方は （I've been） good./fine.　といった感じです。


ついでに、「ひさしぶりに〜をやる」というフレーズもあげておきます。日本語のように一言でいえないので面倒くさいですね。文の構成は基本的には上記と同じです。

It is the first time I have played soccer for 2 months. 「２ヶ月ぶりにサッカーをするんだ。」
It will be the first time I have visited Kyoto for a long time. 「久しぶりに京都を訪れます。」
It's been a long time since I played the guitar last. 「最後にギターを弾いてからだいぶ経ちました。」
