There are many famous and beautiful castles in Japan. For example, Himeji-Jo castle is registered with the lists of world heritages that is selected by UNESCO. The beautiful seeing of Himeji attracts many people. Many tourists who are not only Japanese but also foreigners visit Himeji-Jo every year. The most beautiful part of Japanese castle is gTenshukakuh which is the tallest building in Japanese castle and people must image Tenshukaku when they hear about Japanese castles. Tenshukaku of Himeji-Jo is grand and noble. Matsumoto-Jo castle, Matsuyama-Jo castle and Hikone-Jo castle are as famous and beautiful as Himeji-Jo. These castles were built in 17th century. Though there are many great castles in Japan, many of them had once been destroyed and were rebuilt in 20th century. Only 12 Tenshukaku of castles are left now. So these 12 castles are so important for us to know about Japanese castles.
But Tenshukaku is just a one important scene of the history of Japanese castles. The superior Tenshukaku buildings were built in the end of 16th century and 17th century. So Tenshukaku is the final style of Japanese castles. Many parts of castles didnft have Tenshukaku. These kinds of castles were built in the mountains. Precipitous slopes and sharp-cut cliffs or complex topographies protected them from enemies. These castles are also important to know about Japanese castles.
