Dear alumnus/alumna,

As you may be aware, the University of Newcastle Alumni Association has recently launched a number of e-mail groups for alumni in specific countries.

One such group has been set up for Japan under the e-mail address
alum-jpn@ncl.ac.uk

If you choose to join the group, you can expect to receive occasional news about the University or the Alumni Association direct from the Alumni Office, as well as occasional messages from group members (you can reply to any messages you receive either directly to the University, to the sender of the message, or to all members on the list, depending on your preference).

The idea has been very successfully launched in the USA and Norway, and we are now looking to extend the service to alumni in other selected countries. Our experience in the States suggests that you might expect around one message per month from the University. You can opt to remove and re-add your name to the list at any stage once you are registered.

If you would like to join, all you need do is send a message to

asking to join the 'Alum-jpn' e-mail group.

We are sending this message to those alumni in Japan for whom we hold an e-mail address, but would be very grateful if you could send it on to other Newcastle graduates with whom you may be in touch. In the meantime, you might also like to make direct contact with the leaders of the Japan branch of our Alumni Association, who would be delighted to hear from you:
