Singing and I
Hello, everyone! My name is Akiko Nishimura.
I was born in Sumida-ku, Tokyo. My place is near Asakusa, so I am Shitamachikko.
When I was a kid, I used to go to Bon dance in Danchi festival. Since I was a kid, I've loved dancing and singing. very much.
When I was about six or seven years old, I started singing in English, although I didn't understand English those days! I liked Carpenters, especially I like these songs: "Top of the World", "Yesterday Once More"," Sing" and so on. Their songs made me very happy. Everyday@I@sang@Carpenters'@songs, and I really enjoyed singing in English!
Over 20 years later, I became a singer, and I'm teaching and singing Gospel music. I have to sing quite hard everyday. It's interesting, but sometimes it is too much for me, I think. singing is not very good as a job..
I've been thinking of a new plan since last year. I want to quit my present job and study singing in NY for at least two or three years. This is the reason I decided to come to Phoenix to learn English.
Of course, it is not so easy to carry out my plan that I was wondering whether I should continue doing my job or study abroad: Then. Mrs. Inagaki, a teacher at this school said," Don't stick to what you have." in her class. "That's right! I thought so, too. "I don't have to stick to my job. I will improve myself more and more and become a real Gospel singer. This year, 2000 is going to be my big year. I'll do my best! "
