Hi! I am Izumi
Hello, there ! I'm Izumi. Let me introduce myself.
I got married in June, the year before last, so I'm still a newlywed wife(?).
At first I had a hard time in Phoenix
After marriage, I started studying English at Phoenix. Actually, when I started learning English, I had forgotten English completely because I had not studied English for a long time.
First, I really had a hard time , because in Phoenix students are forbidden to speak Japanese. .I did not know what to say and how to make friends in English; However, one day, I realized that it was no good to be shy to improve my English, so. I tried to speak to other students even though my English did not make any sense. After that I could enjoy school life. English is still difficult for me, but I think studying English is a lot of fun. English is becoming a part of myself.
I am crazy about Shogi.
Not to change the subject, I'm now crazy about playing Shougi or Japanese chess. I used to play it with my grandfather when I was a child. A year ago, I showed my husband how to play Shougi. Since then, he has always been wanting to play it with me. As a matter of fact, at first I didn't like play Shougi with him because he was so weak at it, and we play it three times a week !! However, he was improving gradually. At last, I could not defeat him any more, so I started to learn how to play Shougi on books and TV; Then I realized how interesting Shougi was. In order to win in Shougi we have to think of many possibilities and read the opponent's mind. That sounds interesting doesn't it ? If there is someone who has confidence in Shougi let me know some techniques.
I want to be an English teacher for kids.
I am going to write about myself more in this homepage; I hope I can get a lot of friends through this website.
I'd like to be an English teacher for Japanese kids. I want to tell them that English is fun.
I think the first impression of English is very important for kids. If they study English at school first, I am afraid that kids will have a very bad impression about English . They must think English is difficult and boring.
I want to tell them how interesting and important English is. Like a TV commercial, if we speak English, we can talk to 10,000,000,000 people !! How exciting it is to tell our opinions to a lot of people and also understand various ways of thinking in English. I want many kids to like English;
I also want to learn English more and more. Because I like English !
Bathing is a special present.
As you may know, I'm a housewife and Phoenix student. It means I'm so busy ! Because I have so much homework every week and also I have to do my house chores and also spend time with my husband, which includes playing Shougi. I wish there were 36 hours in a day. Yet, I do not think I am the only person who wish so. Don't you want 36 hours a day ? We could be under stress unconsciously in such busy lives. Are you alright ?
In order to get rid of stress, I give myself a present every day. That is relaxing myself in a bath. I can spend only 30 minutes, but when I stretch my arms, legs and lie in a bath with my favorite fragrance, I can forget about any problems and I can completely relax. That makes me so comfortable. In addition, I sometimes sing some songs in the bathtub, then I can feel my stress will be reduced.
Here is the good information, especially for girls.
It is common knowledge that bathing is good to lose weight. However, no one knows how we should bathe exactly. So I will tell you the best way to take a bath.
1. First of all, you can set the temperature of hot water at 43c. It is that you will feel very hot.
2. You have to take a lot of shower before you will be into a bathtub
3. You can sit in a bathtub only half of your body and stay one minute. Then you can gradually sink yourself into the bathtub. This is for protecting your heart.
4. Stay two or three minutes.
5. Get out of the bathtub and take a rest for five minutes. If you want, You can wash your body.
6. You can repeat this three times. You can use 300 or 400 calories with this method. It is the same as if you walk for one or a half an hour. Let's get a healthy mind and body with taking a bath.
The mystery of the moon
Today, I will tell you one of my interests, the moon. Don't stop reading even though you are not interested in this topic at all. I bet you will like this. As you may know, there are a lot of myths in which the moon appears. One of the best-known myths is Okami Otoko; or Wolf Man. The story is about the man who would transform himself into a wolf .On the night of the full moons, fur and claws suddenly grow on his body and he change into the wolf. Another well-known myth is Jekyll and Hyde. It is the story about a man who has two opposite characters. On the full moon night he changes himself into Jelyll, a very violent character, and on the new moon night, he changes into Hyde, a very ingenious character. |

As these stories show, people n the old days thought the moon is related to craziness.. Have you heard the words; Lunatic or Lunacy ? They mean crazy or craziness. The origin is Lunar, which means the moon in Latin. I guess the moon is the most beautiful star that we can see. It changes its shapes and colors every day. Why did people think such a beautiful star as a symbol of craziness ? Here are an interesting hypothesis. It is common knowledge that the moon makes the high tide and low tide twice a day. The moon pulls sea water with gravitation. The book, which is titled Many Moons written by David Brueyon, says that 80 percent of human's body is water, so high tide and low tide occur in human's body, too. This is called Biological tides theory. It says there is a possibility that the moon influences human's body, brain and mind. It also says that there are less car accidents at a full moon and new moon nights than other shapes of the moon, because a full moon and a new moon can make more gravitation than the others so that our concentration increases. What do you think of it ? Can you believe ? In fact, a menstrual period is just the same as the cycle that the moon goes around the earth once. Besides, more babies have been born on the full moon nights and new moon nights. Did these facts just happen by chance ? I would like to believe the power of the moon because if the moon truly influences us, it is so mysterious, isn't it ? How many people here like animals ? In fact, I would take animals over human
beings any day !! They always make me calm and good-hearted.
I have two cats; Pink and Akubi in our small apartment. I feel sorry for
them not to allow them to go out. Because our apartment is on the 13th floor.
They always look at the sky, they seem a little sad.
It has been 16 years, since I met Pink at the ground of our junior high
school. She was bullied by four or five boys. I helped her out of the boys,
since then she has been one of the my family members. Because of
bullied experience, Pink is afraid of human beings. She always hides herself
when we have guests. When I got married and start living with my husband,
she could hardly move. She had not eaten anything and even gone to
the restroom for two days. Needless to say, my husband welcomed them.

Now she is 16 years old. As a matter of fact, she seems to be senile. She
seems to forget that she ate food just a while ago. She is always
hungry and miaows.
The name of the other cat is Akubi. He is such a timid cat that he is afraid
of my stuffed bear.
He is nine years old now and as you can see, a bit overweight. When we first
met, he was such a little kitten. Time goes by so quickly, he has turned out
like a raccoon dog.
He has a funny habit that he always runs around excitedly after emptying his
bowels. It is beyond my comprehension. Why is he so excited ? Does anyone
know the reason ?
Since last year, there have been so many births among my close friends. When I
see their babies, I feel a little envy, but I have two pretty babies. As far
as I'm concerned, the present situation is happy enough for me. I wish we
could live together forever.
