Hi! My name is Naoko. I am a
senior at college majoring in German. I don't have to take any
classes there this year because I 've got all the credits
necessary for graduation.
I have not studied German since April so I am afraid that I am
forgetting it little by little.
In August, I also started studying English at Phoenix English
College. I have 17 classes a week! I take various kinds of
classes, for example, debate, conversation, pronunciation, radio
news, making a school newspaper and this Internet class.
I want to go abroad on business. I will be working as a system
engineer next year. Fortunately I could succeed in job-hunting.
The company trades with some foreign companies. I decided to
become a SE because I like computers and it sounds cool and
smart.

Job-hunting
As you may know, job-hunting is now very difficult for college students. In my case it took five months to find a job. It was very tough but I could have a great experience for my life.
In December I started to send applications to more than 100 companies! Sometimes I have to write my name and address all day long. My right hand was always tired. However, there are also web pages for job-hunting like "Recruit-navi". You can have your own page in it if you register, and it saves your identification. You can send applications through this web page to the companies which register in Recruit-navi, so you do not have to write your names.
Sometimes it was difficult to get some companies' brochures because of my sex. One courier service sent me a funny letter instead of an application form. It said if I wanted to work for the company, I had to get a license for driving a truck, carry heavy packages for delivery, and be transferred if the company wants to. I am not strong enough to be a delivery girl and wanted to be a systems engineer. So I did not reply to the letter.
