07/15/02 The prejudgadice of Japnese
When I was eating a breakfast with reading a newspaper I was asked by an English speaker.

¡ÆCan you speak English?¡Ç

¡ÈYes, I can.¡É I answered.

The reason why he spoke to me was he wanted to know why Japanese people avoid the other people when they faced each other. I explained to him that it depends on people, situations. Although every jap do so, most people traditionally, culturally shy and don¡Çt want to interfere in private concerns. The other reason is most these people can¡Çt speak English and any other languages ( there are many different country¡Çs people in Aus and NZ ) ,that¡Çs why they don¡Çt want to contact with foreigners, I reckon. But actually even Japanese it¡Çs hard to contact with each other at first.

I told Ricardo, who is Blazilian guy and we met in Gold Coast¡Çs YHA, what it¡Çs happened above. He said to me

¡Æ If you stare at somebody or as a dangerous people in Brazil, you would be badly mauled ¡Æ
Surprisingly when he was in his country he did same thing as well as us.

Eventually, I reckon whether we ignore people depends on situations, area, and so on. Perhaps you can imagine easily, if you face to a sexy girl, you will definitely gaze at her, won¡Çt you.
07/13/02 The Great Barrier Reef
I just worreid before going to bet. What I worried last night was Whether I¡Çll be able to wake up on time such a early morning , because I had not only took a rest but also I was being untill 1:00 a.m in the night club though I had been for thirty hours in a coach which is Brisben to Carins.

I was waken up by Crise who was my room mate and we went to a pub last night and I¡Çm gonna go to The Great Barrier Reef with him. at several minutes past seven ,even though I sat the alarm clock for six thirty. What I noticed afterwhile why it didn¡Çt work propaly was that that I had dropped it off whin I had got up at around3~4 a.m. Perhaps it stoped at the time.

We managed to jump on the board a ship in time. It was amazingly clear beautiful sea aroud the GBR where we stopped and were swimming. Even though I¡Çd not tried the scuba diving, I decieded to do after I saw the sea and finish ed schnorcheling once in the morning. The other reason why I did a scuba diving was the price was much cheaper than I expected. (1st dive $55)

After an instructor briefly explained the important diving rule, sign, and using equipment, so on. While I had sore ears, however, I could managed to get rid of this pain as I did what the instructor said in this case. The more the time went by, the more I could simply enjoy under the world. During the diving I could fortunately see the small shark and tached the sea turtle and the huge shell which I¡Çve never seen before.

Eventually, the only thing I can say is the Okinaw¡Çs coral reeves is much much beautiful and colourful than the famouse coral reef in the world, I reckon.
07/13/02 Her name is Tokyo.
I met a German family on the ship on the exact same day I scuba-dived. They had a two-year-old baby, Tokyo. (whata surprise!! Yes it¡Çs as exact same name as the capital of Japan) she was sleeping with being holding by her mother, Moni, though when I spoke to her father, Kolja about idle talks. They have travelled around Australia for a year and half by a camping truck which he made by himself.( they showed me proof of some pictures later.) the more I listened to his attractive talks and his wonderful experience, the more I was interested in them and wanted to see their big house. The other reason why they appealed to me was Tokyo! Actually, she had not seemed to want to contact with me at first, more and more we were friend.

After getting off the ship we went to their house. Even though I was holding Tokyo and I felt bits heavy, I enjoyed the time with her and I didn¡Çt care about her weight. Their house was so lovely and cuddlesome. It is much nicer than any modern same type of vehicle even though it looked old-fashion and simple. (although there was a huge modern luxury camping car besides them actually, it seemed to be much more gorgeous.) There were everything we need in our daily life, such as gas, fridge, TV¡Äevery electricity can be supplied from a solar system attached to the roof of the car. Everything was more excellent than I expected.

After that, they invited me to eat dinner with them, which was so nice, and I played with soccer with Tokyo because she did something lovely action after she got a goal. We became real friend at the time. After a while, They invited me to travel with them, too. Of course, I was really happy and wanted to follow them, but I had already promised to meet Recardo, a Brazilian boy who I met in GC, that's why I had to turn down thire proposal.
Perhaps, they are somewhere around in Ausuralia.
05/22/02 What my fuck'n bike!
I got a flat tyre the way home yesterday. When I ran over something, I heard a strange sound which sounded as if something had burst. At that time, it would be all right because it sometimes happens, and I kept going. After I had gone several metres, however, I noticed that the rear tyre was going down. Then I checked it and heard the sound like air escaping. Therefore I had to go the rest of the way home on foot.

I think I'm a person who often gets a puncture because this has happened to me three times sinsce I came here. Besides, I often used to get punctures when I was in Japan as well.

05/17/02 I'm a member of Crusaders' fan
It was the second time I had been to the Jade stadium for supporting Canterbury Crusaders, which had sweepingly gone on to the semi final, they hadn't lost any games at all in this season. Before going to the stadium, Glen & Rochell who are my hostfamily was painting their faces black and red, such as Crusaders colour. I thought I would be next victim. My bad expectaion hit the target. Glen urgent me to paint to daub paint on my face because I knew it's hard to remove it, I let him paint my face owing to ask me to do this (Indeed, it was fack'n hard to wash it off!).

While we went to the stadium, we were stared at by heaps of people. However, it wasn't too embarrassing for me at that time. Surprisingly, I felt proud of my face paiting as if I'm a mad member of the supporters. Another reason I wasn't embarrassed was there were heaps of people painted in the stadium, However, I thought I hardly saw asian people with painted faces.

Speaking of the result of the game, needless to say, the Crusaders beat the Otago highlanders with great ease, and they went on to the final game.

05/16/02 World Cup 2002 TV commercial in Nea Zealand
When I was watching TV this evening with eatting my dinner, I was so so surprise to see 2002 World Cup soccor's advertisement which has been brodcasted in NZ.

Firstly, the red circle came out in the white screen which looked like the japane flag. Secondly, the person who also looks like japanese player worn japanese uniform, and then this red ball.

We connect this advertisement with the World Cup being only Japan as soon as we see. If this commercial have been broadcasted in Japan or Korea, it would have caused a serious problem.

05/16/02 Bloody expensive NZ!
I was suprised that the shower hock which I broke in the bath room last Friday cost $32.25 to fix! It's bloody expensive ! Of course, I regret what I did and apologise to my homestay, but the repair cost was much pricier than I expected. I think it's my egoism by myself. However, I would be happy with this cost if they will be satisfied with it, too.

05/16/02 Fuck'n cold!
I woke up earier than usual, because it was incredibly cold this morning. I got up around 7:00 am and tried to go back to sleep, but I couldn't do it for a bloody cold. I was thinking whether I shoud ask my host family to buy a electric blanket during being in bed as put up with the cold. I also worried about the New Zealand's winter. It is still in autumn! What should I do now!
