Research topic: Public Access to Mass Media and Community Development

〜Mass Media for Japanese in Vancouver〜

I was volunteering at Intercultural Action Society (I.C.A.S.): Japanese broadcasting centre in Vancouver. By my experience there, I am really interested in the relation between Japanese community development and mass media in Vancouver.

I am also interested in the difference between Canada and Japan, because Canada is an advanced country of mass media and Japan is not.

The purpose of this research is searching how and why Japanese community in Vancouver has been developing by using mass media and this research helps to run Japanese community access channel and those who have been silenced in Japan, for example, Koreans living in Japan.
