"Haunts"

What do I mean by " Haunts" ?

Oooh... Good food, good shopping, good fun...

My favourite eating haunt? No favourite actually...too many good food, too little time!!! In Singapore, we have a lot of quality food & "cheapo" food.

Here's a list which you can refer to:

Campass Rose at Westin Hotel: A good 3-course dinner costs about S$400 over. It was a fantastic dinner except for the "gross cocktail"!

Triple 3 at Mandarin Hotel: A nice buffet where you can have numerous servings of crayfishs & all other seafood. It costs about S$50 odd for a person, nice ambience!

Tong Lok restaurant at Keppel Club: It's an ala carte buffet where it's better to go there in a big group so that you can eat like mad. It costs about S$60 odd for a person.

Neptune Restaurant: A good "tim sum" place...you can see a lot of Japanese or "Ang Mo" tourists over there.

Al Dente's at Holland Village: There's a very "shiok" spaghetti vongole over there.

Sketches at Bugis Junction: Good place to have your own personalised spaghetti, you need to name your own spaghetti. Another plus point, it costs about S$10!

Family Restaurant at Takashimaya S.C.: A good place to eat Japanese food at a cheaper price!

N.Y.D.C at Suntec City, Holland Village: They serve the best cheese cake in town, the latter provides a better ambience.

Tiong Bahru food centre: A place where you can eat the best " chwee kuey ", but have to queue lah...many other types of good food there, go there with an empty stomach please!

Crawford Lane food centre: There's a very "shiok" won ton noodles over there. A big serving costs about S$4, it has mushrooms, char siew, chicken strips, won ton & a lot of vegetables. It only opens at 7pm, closes on Sundays.

Kallang Bahru food centre: You can have the best rojak over there, & " char kwey tiao ", there's even a satay sauce steamboat & a very cheap " zhu chao tan".And yes, the best "lor mee" is located there.

Hollywood food centre: There's a good " char kwey tiao" stall & the duck rice there are also very tasty!

Macpherson hawker centre: Nice & cheap "Hokkien mee"!!! From S$2 onwards.

Katong coffee shop: Great "Laksa"...those that requires you to use spoons instead of chopsticks,"Bagus"!!! & "nasi lemak" wrapped in pandan leaves.

Nasi lemak stall at Hougang coffee shop: Shiok but very expensive! Gotta queue also.

Roti Prata shop at Jalan Kayu: Indian "pancake"? Nice! Goes well with tea tarik! A good midnite gathering after disco.

Chinatown coffee shop: A famous porridge stall which I'm quite pissed off by the crowds.

Pasir Ris Fishermen's village: Good place to eat crabs...great sea view but a lot of mosquitoes...take care!

And of course, being a "food lover", my favorite pastime is to scout around for good food. Due to my laziness, the food list stops here for Singapore Section.

How about some "shiok" eating places in Nanjing or Shanghai, etc?

Nanjing: I go to Submarine a lot, sometimes go to "Yi Zhi Ji" or "HK style noodles shop" at "Shi zi Qiao", Venice or Vietnamese restaurant at Zhongxin hotel, not forgetting the most boring places like Jinyin Restaurant, Han Ma Dang, etc. Had the most remembered Japanese food at Sakura. My favourite ice-cream place or breakfast haunt is German Bakery. And of course favourite cake haunt will be Hilton Hotel, I remembered spending a good 150rmb for a cake + coffee breakfast, didn't dare to go there for breakfast again unless it's on somebody's treat. ANYONE? Now the best spot is Chari's at home, a fantastic restaurant which you can temporarily forget that you are in China. I know the boss very well so kinda enjoy going there every other day.

Shanghai: I will go to "Bu Jian Bu San" restaurant at YanDang Lu for HK style tim sum or Singapore food at Rose Garden or Frankie's every time I go to Shanghai. Of course not forgetting about all the nice food in Sun Island. Heard about a shiok laksa...plans to go there one day.

Suzhou: A recently-opened Taipei restaurant...good food that costs about 3rmb for a vegetable dish.

Some of my favourite haunts in Singapore

Pasir Ris-the community library, the shopping mall, the beach...

Don't be shocked by the following...I'm actually a book-lover at heart, always go crazy when I go to Kinokuniya bookstore or Borders.

I used to go Mdm Wong's/Wong San along Mohammad Sultan Road or SOS, or even Zouk when I'm much younger but nowadays, I prefer to go some place quieter.

Shopping?Aiyah...where else but the heart of Singapore-ORCHARD ROAD! Can go & buy CDs at HMV which Nanjing do not have. And to scout around for all the most updated fashion clothings which I have missed during the period in Nanjing!

Some of my favourite haunts in China

Nanjing: Xiyuan library( when I need to do my assignments ), Pukou Campus( I'm being forced to go there! )Ning Hai Lu & Xin Jie Kou ( Shopping ) And of course the restaurant which is mentioned above...

Shanghai: Xiangyang Lu or Sun Island

etc...any recommendations?
