Some people prefer to spend their entire life in one place and work for one company throughout their life, while some others move several times to search for better places, better jobs, or better communities. My father had devoted himself into the family business for 40 years until he died since he took it over from his father. More than five hundred people came to his funeral to express their respect for him who had worked for one business throughout his life. However, in my opinion, people do not have to adhere to only one place or one job, even if some bad effects are expected.

First, the possible bad effects of choosing the life in which people move to search other places are as follows. Firstly, they are difficult to be professional, in other words, they are opposite of professors who devote their entire life to study only one thing. Secondly, some of them may move to another place of living or job because they do not have enough patients. For example, they can not communicate well with the neighbors or their bosses. If people move due to such reasons, they do not learn how to overcome the difficulties they face in their life. Thirdly, they may loose their identities; for example, Japanese who move to the U.S.A. permanently are not seen as Americans by Americans, and as Japanese by Japanese. Lastly, if people change the companies they work for so often they lose their loyalty to the companies. I believe loyalty is one of the important motivations to make people work.

Although I admit these bad effects of choosing the life in which people move in other places or jobs, I think people had better move to search a best place or job throughout their life. The first reason to support my opinion is that people can have more variety experience. For example I am now living in Singapore, and I have become very sensitive to racial matter by living in this multi-racial country. Secondly, people are required their skill to get a job in a new place, or their adaptability to get into a new community. They may improve their skill and adaptability every time they move to a new place. Lastly, they always have a dream to search for a better place. For example I enjoy planning to move to N.Y. and work at the Wall Street. People can live more attractively if they have such dreams.

In conclusion, I respect my father who spent his entire life in one place and devoted himself into one business throughout his life. Moreover, there are some bad effects to move several times in search of better places to live or to work. However, I believe people do not have to stick to one place or one job, but they should move if they want. They can have rich experience, and improve themselves and live with dream by searching for a better place.
