A several years ago a book titled "Emotional Intelligence" became very popular, and the author discussed in the book that "IQ" or "good at studying" is only one aspect of qualities people have. He expresses that "EQ", an ability to keep their mind into steady, is also an important quality. Therefore grading in school that makes some students feel inferiority complex is controversial issue these days. In my opinion, although "good at studying" is only one of the qualities people have, it is an important one. Moreover, grading encourages students to learn, so it should not be done away with.

First, I discuss the reason why "good at studying" is important aspects, although I admit it is just one aspects of the qualities people have. As long as I know most of the students who are good at studying are hard workers, do not miss classes, and have a "never giving up" mind. They are far from lazy, and have strong aspirations to achieve their goals. Therefore, they are not only good at mathematics or history that requires students just of memorizing the facts, but also have strong nature. Students who have such natures are not always superior to others in every respect, however, I believe such natures are important factors even after finishing schools.

Next, I will discuss how grading encourages students to learn, and it shouldn't be done away with. Students study hard for examination to get good marks because good grades give them big advantage to find jobs. I want to say that studying hard for examination is important because students do not learn almost anything without examination in schools. In my experience to attend classes is not enough for students to learn the subjects however carefully they listen to what teachers say. They need examinations to review the lessons again. Therefore, grades encourage students to study for examinations, and it is good system for them to learn the subjects.

In conclusion, although to get a good marks is just only aspects of the abilities people have, it is an important ability. It is because most of students who can get good grades are strong enough to achieve their goals, and are not lazy. Moreover, because good grades give the students advantage to get a job, they study very hard to get good marks. In other words grades encourage them study hard, so I conclude grades in school shouldn't be done away with.
