幼稚園・保育園

自分の勉強以外にも、お子様の教育もきになるところです。Ann Arbor には大小たくさんの施設があり、全日制から週3日制のところ、午前、午後だけのところから終日制のところ、目的・生活パターンにより選ぶことができます。 ただしご注意いただきたい点がございます。アメリカの保育園や幼稚園はしっかりと定員が定められており、入学したい学校があっても定員に達していれば入学することができません。また推薦がない状態で入学を希望されても児童の安全上、棄却される可能性が高いです。 私は大学の機関でありますFamily Care Resources Program（1009 Greene Street, 2072 Administrative Services Building, 936-8677）のオフィスを訪問し、カウンセラーと私の子供にあった幼稚園を一緒に探してもらいました。対応はとても親切です。こちらでは現在、まだ定員の空いてる学校のリストを作成してくれます。さらに大学の推薦状もあるため、入学審査も非常にスムーズになります。まずはここに相談されることをお勧めいたします。 ただ、ここではあくまでどのような学校があるかという情報提供のみで学校の評判等の情報は入手できません。サービス内容や時間帯なども様々ですので、最後は自分の目で確かめて、条件等を確認された上で、申し込まれるのがよいと思います。 ちなみにAnn Arborは国際色豊かなところだけに、様々な国の子供たちが一緒に勉強しています。このため英語話せないお子様でも安心して預けられるのも大きな特徴です。 以下に私が紹介を受けた学校について一例をあげさせていただきます。

Type of Care: Center Centerとは規模が大きめの学校です。日本の幼稚園、保育園に非常にちかいものがあります。この他にも資格を持った方が個人経営で自宅で預かってくれるものもあります。一丁一旦がありますが、多くの子供たちと仲よくなれるのは前者、学校時間外でも気楽にBaby-Sitterをお願いできるのは後者ではないでしょうか？
