I visited Newmarket on the school programme on saturday. Newmarket is situated near Cambridge. It only took about an hour and half from Norwich by bus. This town is famous as a horse racing place. I think Miho and Rittou correspond this sort of city in Japan.
|
| I saw the horses and things related to the horse everywhere in this town.
I visited the stadium, the National stud, and the Gallops. |

Gallop |
| There were paths for the horses at the side of human ones. It was interesting
that in this town it seems like that horses have a greater priority than
humans. When our bus encoutered horses which intended to cross a street,
we had to wait for them. It was like a horse's land. |

With retired jocky |
A 75 year old retired jocky guided us these places. He had won the over 300 races by the time he had retire. He knows everything about this town. He is so famous that he greeted almost everybody who pass him on the street. I couldnt believe his age, because he was very active. We really enjoyed visiting there by the grace of him.
But only one thing i regret that i could not go inside the studium. If I have a opportunity to visit here again, I would like to go to see races live next time.
