Returnees Ministry

Returnees Ministry is a one of ministries at Tokyo Baptist Church that has been increasing a need of supporting Japanese who became a believer of Jesus Christ while they were at overseas.
Though TBC is an international church and people from over 40 countries get together in one place to worship the same God there was no ministry to support and help them to dwell in this church.
Some of returnees had been wondering why there is no such ministry at TBC and decided to make movement for it.
That is how it was started at Tokyo Baptist Church.
TBC is an international church so that many returnees come to visit the church.
We assume that majority Japanese who come to TBC has some kind of cross cultural experience in overseas.
However visitors at TBC often find difficulties to get used to people and find not many people are welcoming them because it is relatively big church comparing other churches in Japan and also people at TBC do not aware of the need for them.
Therefore some people tend to not come back to the church again and become one of the backsliders.
The returnees ministry focuses to support them so that they may dwell in the church by doing personal level care and follow up.
We also introduce them to other ministries at TBC so they will be encouraged one another through people with different background yet they know the same God.
During Returnees Ministry every 3rd Saturday of the month we share each other learn from Bible and pray for one another.
We are focusing on fellowshipping one another like Hebrew 10:24-25 says.

We do this so they may dwell in the church and grow in Christ.
リターニーズ・フェローシップはTBCで重要視されている帰国者のためのミニストリーです。
TBCには多くのミニストリーがあり40カ国を超える人が同じ主を礼拝するために集うインターナショナチャーチであるにもかかわらず、帰国者をサポートするようなミニストリーがありませんでした。
それに疑問を感じた数人が立ち上がり、主の導きによって、このミニストリーが始まりました。
TBCはインターナショナ ルチャーチということもあって多くの帰国者があつまります。
現在TBCに集う日本人の半数以上は異文化に接したことのある帰国者です。
しかし、教会自体が大きいため多くの人々が教会を訪れてもその人達を心からケアする人や励ます人が十分にいません。
そのために、教会や交わりを離れるだけでなく、信仰からさえも離れてしまうケースが少なくありません。
このフェローシップでは、個人レベルのフォローアップをはじめ、その人が教会につながるように、その人にあったフェローシップを紹介したり、各地のミニストリーなどに誘って違うバックグランドをもつ帰国者との交わりをとおして励まし合ったりします。
また毎月第一土曜日にあるフェローシップや、第三日曜日の礼拝後のランチフェローシップで、分かち合い、御言葉からの学びや祈りをとおして、お互いを励ますことを目標にしています。

・ 東京バプテスト教会のリターニーズ・ミニストリーは、帰国者が教会につながるよ うに、分かち合い、御言葉や祈りを通して励ましあうことを目的としています。
またこの交わりを通して、お互いが主において成長し、帰国者としてのアイデンティティーを主の栄光のために活かす準備をします。
