Diving

Many resorts represented by Sharm El Sheikh and Hurghada are situated facing to the Red Sea. Sharm El Sheikh is located at the southern tip of the Sinai Peninsula and Hurghada is on the east coast of the main land facing. Lots of Europeans including Germans, French and Italians are visiting these resorts. Most of them just relax and refresh there.

The Red Sea is a well known diving paradise as well. There are some world widely famous dive sites in the Red Sea such as Ras Mohamed in Sharm El Sheikh and Blue Hole in Dahab.

Ras Mohamed where dives all over the world are attracted to dive is located at the tip of the small peninsula. It takes an hour and half to get to Ras Mohamed from Sharm El Sheikh. Three fringe reefs covered with colorful corals are there. The south side wall of the reefs is dropped off to the bottom by 800m vertically. The visibility is about 30 m. Off course we can't recognize the bottom. A dive with an invisible bottom of sea may make inexperienced divers feel scared. However, the bottomless deep cliff here create mysterious atmosphere. Thats why divers yarn for Ras Mohamed.

The Jetty at Ma'ama bay in Sharm El Sheikh

A main feature of the dive sites in the Red Sea is very complicated landscape of the bottom. Deep cliffs with depth of more then 50 m are likely found in the Red Sea. You might feel you're flying when you are diving along a deep cliff. My favorite dive is a drift dive along a deep cliff covered with gorgeous corals. A drift dive is a dive that diving to on direction after an entry and a boat pick up divers after ascent.

A School of Black Spotted Sweet Lips and a Napoleon Fish in Hurghada

There are few large objects such as huge sharks or Manta rays at the dive sites in the Red Sea. Besides, number of fish is relatively small. However, there are some own spices in the Red Sea, especially groupers and wrasses. It likely encounters Napoleons and huge giant morays here. And then corals here are very colorful and beautiful. In addition, some pinnacles covered with colorful corals are situated. If there are lots of glass fish around a pinnacle or inside its cave and lionfish are flouting in a school of the glassfish, they are absolutely beautiful. This kind pinnacles can be seen in Hurghada.

I heard corals at dive sites in Okinawa, Japan, and Parao were more colorful and more fish are there. I've dive at dive sites in Barbados in the Caribbean Sea, Tahiti in the Southern Pacific, Cebu in the Philippines and Ko Samui in Thailand. The Red Sea is the best. The Red Sea is most attractive for me. I think I'm luck because I dive at the world famous diving sites. Thanks to living in Egypt, I've made more than 250 dives. I'll attempt for a course of Dive Master during my stay in Egypt.
