Fukuoka

Fukuoka prefecture has many mountains, rivers, and good food! Fukuoka City is the biggest city in the prefecture. It has a subway, an airport and department stores. However, only a short distance from Fukuoka City, there are the sea, rivers, and other intresting sights. If you like to fishing, you can do it near the city.

Here is a photo I took near my home. I live on the countryside, as you can see. In the summer, I can sometimes see some people having a picnic at the riverside. As you know, Japanese like to see fireworks. Me too, of cource! Many girls wear KIMONOs when they go to see the show. There are many fireworks display in Fukuoka, maybe more than in Tokyo.　

Do you know "ONSEN"? The English word for it is hot spring. As I told you, Fukuoka has many mountains, and that's why there are many hot springs, too. You probably have leave Fukuoka city if you want to go to ONSEN. You can fina a spa in the area around Fukuoka easily. You don't have to stay at hotel with spa. If you want to take ONSEN, you just pay a little money and then you can enjoy the spa as long as you want without worrying about the time - if you don't mind to take it with unknown people. Of course, you have to take your clothes off!
