Another Sparrow

Many Christians feel that Levictus as tedious and trifling. But when we read the New Tesatment, we notice that there are important relation with Levictus.

Matthew 10.26-31 (RSV)
"So have no fear of them; for nothing is covered that will not be known. What I tell you in the dark, utter in the light; and what you hear whispered, proclaim upon the housetops. And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul; rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell. Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall the ground without your Father's will. But even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not, there fore; you are of more value than many sparrows."

Generally, this phrase told as "Afraid not, the LORD protects you". But often it is not reiered that this needed a sacrifice. Of cource, the scapegoat (another Sparrow) is Jessus Christ. This circumstance could not interpret without the Old Testament.

digest from Levictus 14.1-32 (RSV)
The LORD said to Moses, "This shall be the law of the leper for the day of cleansing. ----- " And the priest shall command them to kill one of the birds in an earthen vessel over running water, He shall take the living bird with the cedarwood and the scarlet stuff and the hissop, and dip them and the living bird in the blood of the bird that was killed over the running water; ----- And shall let the living bird go into the open field.

One Sparrow will be released, the other will be sacrificed. That means, we are released in spite of the Crusify. Then we are protected by crucified Jesus Christ.

Those who ignore the Old Testament could not know the New Testament. We could find such a simple and deep meanings to refer the Old Testament. Even though it is "tedious" Levictus.

Parallel phraise appeared in Luke 12.6. Luke descrived "Are not five sparrows for two pennies". Matthew prepaired better explanation than Luke about this phrase. Those who misunderstood people need not to confess. Even Luke misunderstood ? in here.
Plasure is the Old Testament that tells truth between the New testament lines.
