F-86F First battle by jet fighter held in Korean sky. Early times of that war, Russian MiG-15 combatted for out-of-dated fighters. Immediately they could controll the air. Then America sent newest fighter F-86A Sabre in haste. And F-86E, F-86F sended for additionaly. These F-86 combated much better than MiG-15. There were almost no capable merits between MiG15 and F-86. But F-86 could got 8 to 10 times hit than MiG-15. Caused the reason was some equipments.
MiG-15bis One was the weapon system. Since their combat speed reached near mach 1, twice or third than ever, so sight with human eyes became very difficult. F-86 A (to F) had attached sight rader system, Fire Control System. It enabled to measure distance and forecast direction. Other one was G-suit. So sometimes MiG pilot black-outed when F-86 pilot could bear gravity. F-84 Thuder strek certificated ability of jet attackers in this war. They scrapped midium-size attackers and bombers with propeller.

In Vietnam

MiG-17 Next large scale air combat held in Vietnam. When the war begin, North Vietnam had exactly poor Air force. They only had some cargo and transporters. It is needless to say that the ability of faced U.S. Air Force and Navy. In haste, some MiG-15 and MiG-17 had given to North Vietnam. At same time , pilots training and runway building started. These MiGs were not super sonic fighter. U.S. Assumed a lordly manner that they believed the sweeping victory. Air combat had held limited season. It was caused very clowdy weather of Vietnam in rain season. It was unexpected that the first victims were two F-105 Thundrcheif. Even F-105 could fly with mach 2, full attached bombs made F-105 as a turkey. MiG-17 suddenly appeard and attacked F-105. Then they flied away from there. Supporting fighters were ignored. This "Hit-and-Run" tormented enemy. Other hazard was many kind of anticraft guns and SAM. When they attack to surface objects, they ought to fly under the clouds. So they must fly under the rain of bullets . Many pilots sacrificed there. Another side of problem of weapon, was the missile. Military officer thoughted missiles are almighty, no gun needed. MiGs were not forward fllying dummy. So missiles often miss the target. When missiles consumed, they must run away from MiGs' gun . These pilot did not learned dog fights with gun, too. Brighted were F-8U Crusader and its pilots. They called themselves as "the last gunfighter". They were veteran, expart of dog-fight, recorded excellent results. They called "MiG-Master" and/or "MiG-Killer". These F-4 pilots were young, too scarce experience of dog-fight, were not good. Vulcan attached F-4 supplied. "Top gun" trained dog-fight for young pilots. MiG-17's span was smaller than F-86F. They did not fight with such a small and good foot-worked fighter. There A-4 selected as dummy of MiGs. Air Force collect many MiGs and even made a squadron to study. These effort improved the kill ratio.
MiG-21MF Since 1966, Vietnamese Peoples'Air Force received Supersonic Jet fighter MiG-21 with Atoll AAM. It was most advanced fighter of USSR at that era which attached all-weather rader and guided missiles, better maneuver than F-4 at that time. So USAF needed to improve tracky F-4s in a hurry.And F-100s were withdrawed from the battle field. MiG-21 killed about 70 F-4 and B-52 from 1966 to 1973.

F-111 could bring bombs five times of F-4. The first appeared F-111 pushed back only after 35 days later. By th reason 3 of 6 F-111 losed caused trouble itself. Following big amount of F-111 efforted. But the troubles did not ceased. Surprized was the defeat of America called as "withdrawal" at the last.

Six Days War between Arab and Israel

EC-121 "Six days war" taught us the requirement of strategic preparation in peace time. Before Egypt arused Israel, Israel Air Force took the wisest preparation. Israel Air Force destroyed Arab air bases entirely in less than two hours till the outbreak . It is best way to kill enemy fighters that to attack while they are in ground. It is said that the surprise attack best, dog-fight worst. Of cource, the air was monitored with Israel AWACS entirely while Egypt made as blind. It also suggested the inportance of ground based rader, AWACS (Illustration; Lockheed EC-121 Warning Star) and good databased relation system.
