Department of Polymer Science and Engineering (PSE)
Department of Polymer Science and Engineering is one of highest research center in the field of polymer science in the world. There are about 200 reserchers and graduate students, not only from the United State but also from all around the world, working in the department. Their researches cover all kinds of polymer science, from syntheses to analysis and characterization and most of researches are supported by National Science Foundation. And some researches are jointed with other departments, chemistry, physic and biology in order to advance their researches effectively. There is also the Center for Umass-Indusrty Research in Polymer(CUMIRP) and CUMIRP is supported by a lot of chemical companies.
