Hiya!

Hi! My name is Megumi Mawatari. My nickname is Meg.
I am a university student and my major is English.
I hope that you can enjoy my English homepage.

My Family

My family is Father, Mother, two sisters (I am the oldest), Grand father, Grand mother and a lovely dog.
My Dad works for the company and my Mom is a housewive. One of my sisters works in the hospital as a nurse, and another studies. My grand parents like to grow vegetables. The vegetables they make are very delicious. That is all my...OOPS! I have almost forgotten my lovely dog, Chiro. He is 13years old and very cute and friendly. I like to take a walk with him and so do he.! (The most favorite thing for him may be eating, though (@_@)).
That is all my family. They are the most precious people for me and I want to make a family like my family in the future.

Hobbies

One of my hobbies is to go traveling. I have travelled many places.
Because I had studied in Northern Ireland, I could travel around Europe last year. The favorite contries are England, Ireland, South France (Nice) and Spain. Through my travels in Europe, I had precious experiences. Through the travel around Europe, I realized how big the Europe is and how nice people are. The experiences in Europe are one of my best memories.
I also like to join international exchange activities. In Kumamoto city where I live, there are many those activities. Through encounters with many people, I also meet different cultures and make friendship.
In addition, I often watch movies. It gives me big imaginations. The most impressive movies are "Green Mile" and "Dancer in the Dark".

My memories in Northern Ireland

As I mentioned before, I had studied English in Northern Ireland for one year. Everyday was always precious for me. I made my English skills improved and I made many foreign friends.
In addition, I realized how big the influences of Irish culture to NI though it belongs to the United Kingdom. For example, compared with England, Guinness, Irish music and Irish dance are much popular in NI. Moreover, we can go down to the Repubric of Ireland easily without passport control. Since I meet with Ireland and Irish culture, I love it.

With my best wishes and many thanks to my Irish friends,
I would like to introduce Ireland and some links.

Ireland

Geography

There are two countries in Ireland. One is "Northern Ireland" and another is "The Republic of Ireland". It is very pity, but Northern Ireland is a big matter between England and the Republic of Ireland still now.
In NI, it is very windy and cold, especially, in winter season. In the Republic of Ireland, we can enjoy nicer weather in the summer. Moreover, we can say that sheep is another symbol for standing for Ireland". In Ulster where I had studied, I could see many sheep.

Food

Guiness

As same as England, Irish people often go to the pub. There are many Irish pubs. The most famous beer is Guiness. It is a black beer and it is said that it is very healthy. In Dublin, shopkeeper often makes shamrock on Guiness. On "St. Patricks Day", you can drink green Guiness in the Republic of Ireland.
Moreover, there are many original dishes. The most famous one is "Irish stew". In addition, Irish people often eat potatoes.
