棒(ぼう)の手(て)とは

棒(ぼう)の手(て)とは何(なに)か
簡単(かんたん)に言(い)うと、チャンバラごっこです。チャンバラといっても自由(じゆう)にたたきあっこするわけではありません。ちゃんと順番(じゅんばん)が決(き)まっていて、勝(か)つ方(ほう)も決(き)まっているのです。
「やあ」「ほー」などというかけ声(こえ)があり、木刀(ぼくとう)と棒(ぼう)で決(き)まった型(かた)を行います。
どこでやっているの？
愛知県(あいちけん)の東尾張地区(ひがしおわりちく)、西三河地区(にしみかわちく)で中心(ちゅうしん)に行われています。
各地区(かくちく)では、愛知県(あいちけん)の無形文化財(むけいぶんかざい)に指定(してい)されているところが多(おお)くあります。
いつごろからやっているの？
今(いま)から約(やく)４５０年(ねん)ほど前(まえ)、今(いま)の日進市(にっしんし)の城主(じょうしゅ)、丹羽勘介氏次(にわけかんすけうじつぐ)という殿様(とのさま)が領地(りょうち)の
農民(のうみん)に武芸(ぶげい)を教(おし)えたのが始(はじ)まりだと言(い)われています。ですから、はじめは今(いま)のような
型(かた)ではなかったのかもしれません。祭礼(さいれい)に奉納(ほうのう)されるようになってから、形(かたち)としての
武芸(ぶげい)になっていったのでしょう。

<WHAT IS　"BONOTE"?> The　word　"Bonote"　consists　of　three　parts,"Bo",　which　means　 "a　staff",　"No",which　means　"of", and　"Te",　which　means　"form".　 In　other　words,　bonote　means　an　art　of　a　staff.　It's　a bit like　"Chanbara". If you know of chanbara,　perhaps you know that it's not to hit anybody　 freely .　There　is　a　way，and 　the　winner is　predetermined. 　There　are　shouts　such　as　"Ya",　"Ho"　etc. We　practice some　forms　with　a　wooden sword and a staff, and more advanced students use　various　edged　tools,　swords,　 spears,　and sickles. <WHERE　IS　IT　BEING　DONE?> Today　most　of　Bonote　is　handed　down　around　Higashi-owari　area　 and　Nishi-mikawa　area　in　Aichi-prefecture.　There　are　many　such　areas　 which　are　appointed　　intangible　cultural　properties　of　Aichi-prefecture. <HOW　LONG　HAS　IT　BEEN　HAPPENING?> Apparently　it　began　about　1500　years　ago.　For over a thousand years though, it was practiced only　between　the　the　Samurai, and it　is　 said　that around 450 years ago, a Lord　started　teaching　the　martial　 subjects　to　his　farmers.　　There　are　various styles of bonote, some　 of　better　known　are　“Kamata”,　and　“Kento”.　It　has　been　handed　 down　in　all　parts　of　Japan,　but　almost　all　were　interrupted　for　 the　Second　World　War. <WHAT　IS　GOING　ON　IN　MIYOSHI　NOW?> A　society　for　the　preservation　of　Bonote　formally　started　in　Miyoshi　 in1987.　Here the “Kamata”style is　handed　down　, and currently practiced by around 25 people ranging form children　to　adult. <WHICH　SIDE　WINS,　Ｓｗｏｒｄ　OR　staff? And why? > A　 person　with　a　staff is　almost　always　the　winner in bonote. Bonote　is the result of a Lords desire to teach his farmers a way of self-defense　during an　age　of　civil war.　Consequently, the farmers　 side nearly　always　wins　in　Bonote. <WHY　WAS　IT　HANDED　DOWN?> We　would　like　to　hand　down　the　message　of　"PEACE",　from　our ancestors.　Bonote　provided a　light　for　farmers　who　survived　in　 an　age　of　war.　It　changed　the　form　of　festival　entertainment, something which is very important in Japanese culture. As well as peace, through bonote, we wish for a good harvest. This　is　 a farmer's　wish.　Bounote　is　a　farmer's　thing.　It's　not　for　the　 Samurai.　We　can't　help　wishing　for　"PEACE"　for　21st　century.

三好棒(みよしぼう)の手保存会(てほぞんかい)の活動(かつどう)をまとめた動画(どうが)です。

一戸打(ひとうち)ははじめに習(なら)う基本(きほん)の型(かた)です。
なぐり鎌(がま)は荒々(あらあら)しい型(かた)で、練習(れんしゅう)を重(かさ)ねないと怪我(けが)をする危険(きけん)があります。その分(ぶん)、迫力(はくりょく)がある演技(えんぎ)です。

愛知県(あいちけん)みよし市(し)のきたよし地区(ちく)（みよし市(し)の莇生(あざぶ)・高嶺(たかね)より北(きた)）を中心(ちゅうしん)に活動(かつどう)しています。

近年(きんねん)はこのような活動(かつどう)をしています。

７月(がつ)下旬(げじゅん)から活動(かつどう)が始(はじ)まり、10月(がつ)にある祭礼(さいれい)で神社(じんじゃ)に奉納(ほうのう)をしたらその年(とし)の活動(かつどう)は終了(しゅうりょう)です。
