Bratislava has been the capital of the Slovakia
Republic from 1st January, 1993. With its inhabitants of about 500,000
it is at the same time the biggest town in Slovakia. The city has a beautiful
old town, where many public buildings like museums, palaces, monuments,
churches are located in a small area.

| They call it 'Hrad' or castle but it doesn't reminded me of a romantic castle of Europe. It might be a fort. It seemed strange when I saw this hrad from the passport control between Austria and Slovakia. The important capital is very near to its neighbor country. |

Dunaji, Donau, Danube.... The river is called in many languages as it crosses many countries. At the beginning of spring, the river is very beautiful from the hrad. |
