I have wanted to live in Japan since about age 11. Although I am not staying here permanently, my "medium length" stay in tokyo is a dream come true. Economic downturn has not taken a toll on the beauty and energy of this country. Tokyo is still full of life, and everywhere you look, you can find the beauty left behind from traditional Japanese culture blending with modernized society. Life in Tokyo is exactly as I expected, and much more. In a very rare instance in my life, I am not disappointed.

2003-01-19 Coming Soon!! my trip to Pusan...
The end is nigh... My final week in Tokyo has begun, and today the sky is weeping for me. But to look on the bright side, when I leave Tokyo, I am going to Pusan for almost a week. Details to be posted here... For the geographically-challenged, Pusan is in the southern-most part of the Korean Penninsula, and is the main port city of South Korea, which makes it somewhat like what Hong Kong is to China. Pusan is also called Busan.

2002-12-28 UPDATED!! - are you being lied to? Although this has nothing to do with my stay in tokyo, I put this up for your own good. There are many things in your life that you do not think much about, but are harmful for you, and there are things you believe to be truth, but are actually straight out lies or merely propaganda for someone's evil intentions. Here is a collection of a few of them, many are life threatening!!
2002-12-22 Sadly, I was not able to afford attending NSX Fiesta 2002 at Suzuka Circuit this year, even though I am in the country this time! It is an NSX owners' gathering organized by Honda each winter. Activities include driving on world class circuits with top champion drivers in your NSX, exhibition runs of NSX race cars, discussions with NSX engineers and designers, top drivers, and other industry representative such as engineers from Bridgestone tyres (gave me a ride to the dinner banquet in the then newly released S2000 last time I attended). Click on the NSX-R photo for the report and photos of this year's NSX Fiesta.
2002-12-21 Spoon is a leading manufacturer of superior racing components for Honda cars. In recent years they decided to narrow their focus to only Integra Type R, Civic Type R, and S2000. I went to their office to meet with the Chief Operating Officer in hopes to have them produce parts for more cars.
2002-12-08 This is for people in Hong Kong and LA. IT IS SNOWING!! I haven't seen snow for a long time, but this is the first time I am actually excited to see it!
2002-12-08 NEW TOY!!! I was at the music shop looking at headphones when something hideous caught my attention, and the next thing I knew, I took it home.
2002-12-05 UPDATED!! - My Favourite Things... These are some of my favourite things. Perhaps by showing you the things I like and why I like them, they shed some light on my personality.
2002-12-01 NEW SECTION!! - My Toys... Happy Thanksgiving to those in the USA! Christmas is coming, so it is a good time to let everyone know what toys I already have here in Japan so they can compare it to the list of my favourite things. That way you'd know what to get me for Christmas!!!
2002-11-23 - I'm back from Shizuoka! The Tamiya World Championship races were definitely an unexpected and unforgetable experience.
2002-11-13 - One of the more annoying yet widely accepted practices in Japan: A man came to my door today from NHK, Japan's largest TV and radio network. This came as no surprise to me, as I already knew of this practice. He comes around and asks if you have a TV, and requests a fee of tens of thousands of yen for the broadcast of NHK programs whether you watch NHK or your TV at all or not! I told him this is a hotel room and quickly sent him on his way. He didn't even have the chance to ask for money!
2002-11-8 - Many people asked about my new bass, so here is the story: THOSE WHO ALWAYS COMPLAIN I ONLY LIKE JAPANESE PRODUCTS, TAKE NOTE!! This is a bass designed by an AMERICAN luthier name Greg Curbow and made in Korea by a company name Cort. I found it brand new in the used guitar section of a big music shop in Akihabara for 28800yen. What's unique about it is that it seems to be one of only 2 basses designed with a body made of not wood, but a synthetic material called Luthite. The result is an instrument with the feel of super hard (resonant) exotic woods, but at a lower price (to my wallet as well as the environment).
2002-11-7 - I just purchased this bike to get around town. The only reason I wanted a folding bike is to fold it up and ship it out of Japan when I am done with it. Doesn't look very fast, does it?
Guess how much I had to pay for this fuji apple... Click on it for the answer...
Have you ever seen an ocean sunfish? It is mostly found near Japan and Hawaii, and is the only fish I ever wanted but is impossible to keep in my own aquariums, because an adult sunfish is taller than a human adult.
