とにかくファットボーイの音はハッピーな気分にさせてくれる．
ファットボーイの音楽は何も考える必要はないのだ． 個人的に彼は"ビート王"であり"サンプリング王"でもある． 
FATBOY SLIM本名ノーマン･クック．イギリス生まれのイギリス育ち．（南部地方だよ）
当時ノーマンはこんなことを言っている．「僕が最初に夢中になった音楽はパンクとレゲエ．今までいろんな音楽を聴いてきたけど，いつも何年か周期で必ずレゲエに戻っちゃうんだ．スローでうねりのあるサウンドが好きなんだよ」と．しかもノーマンはクラッシュの熱烈なファンでもある．
そんなある日，ノーマンが行ったクラブでエクスタシーを味わう．そしてこの時すべてが一変した．
FATBOY SLIMのファースト・シングル"Santa Cruz"はロンドン中でプレイされまくり，あっという間に名が知れ渡る．
そして２０００年１１月，ジム・モリソン（ドアーズ）ネタの『ＳＵＮＳＥＴ【Bird Of Pray】』に加え，メイシー・グレイ，ブーツィー・コリンズ等が参加するなど，各方面で大きな話題を呼んだ３ｒｄ『ガター・アンド・スターズ』を発表．前２作に比べるとアンビエント・ハウス色が強く，癒し系のブレイクビーツ（？）みたいな感じに仕上がっている． |
