行く前はイラクの人といってもイメージが湧かなかったのですが、
二回イラクに行った今では、彼らの上に爆弾が落ちるということは耐え切れない痛みになっています。
日本とイラク、距離にしても文化にしても遠いものがあり、
もちろんすべての人がイラクに行けるわけでもありません。
それでもこうしたメッセージで少しでも親近感を持っていただければ幸いです。

戦争は残念ながら始まってしまい死者は報道の何倍もあることでしょう。
しかし、戦争が終わって、仮に政権が壊れてもも生き残った彼らの生活はいつまでも続きます。
そうした時に彼らのことを覚えてあげる、少しでもわかってあげる、それだけでも彼らにとって支えになるのではないかと思い集めました。
大事なことは想像力です。
TVでは激しい爆撃の映像だけが流れていますが、実際その下にいる人たちが
どんな人たちなのかを知らないといけないのでしょう。
こんな子たちが爆撃の元、テレビに映せないほど無残に（もしかしたら肉片も残らず）
死んでしまう可能性があるということを知ってください。
すべては想像力。
できれば他の友達にもこの事をはなしたり、転送したりしていただけたら嬉しいです。
やはり一番の問題はみんなの中東に対する無知がいけないと思います。
彼らイラクの人たちの考えを少しでも分かり、

次に６枚目から１０枚目です。日本語はまだやっていません。急いではいるのですが

今回のメッセージで”love our leader (Saddam Hussein)”　といっている子がいます。
これを本心と見るか、それとも恐怖政治の中にいるため言わされているのではないのか、と意見が分かれるところだと思います。

このことについてあくまでも私の考えを言います。
これは彼の本心なんだと思います。
これと同時に、町にでてサダムの歌を歌いながらデモをする人たちも同様に心の底からサダムを支持しているでしょう。
それは彼らの目をみればわかります。
ただそれはある程度年をとった知識人のイラク人が
サダムの負の面も知りながら必要悪として支持しているのとは違うのだろうと思われます。
三つ子の魂百まで、教育がそれを可能にしているのです。

私は高校、大学のほかにも幼稚園、小学校にも回りました。
そこで私は屈託のない少年、少女に囲まれ楽しい時を過ごしたほかに一つ気になったことがあります。
（みんなからサインをねだられ、ちょっとした芸能人みたいでした（笑））
それは私たちが教室に入った時にみんなが立ち上がって
『私はサダムを愛している』といった歌を歌ったことです。

幼稚園児の彼らが真のサダムを知っているはずはありません。
でも小さい時からそうした教育を受け続けていたら彼らがサダムを愛してしまうのは自然なことなのではないでしょうか。
よくイラクのことを知らない人は情報を隔離されているのでは、と言いますがそうではありません。
彼らは情報をもっています。
とりわけ若い子たちはインターネットでCNNやNew　York　Times　も見ています。
ただ彼らはそういったメディアが言っているサダムフセイン像を信じないのじゃないのかな、と思います。
人を愛すると欠点が見えなくなるのと同じように。
フセインは1979年に大統領になった、つまり２４年間もの間こうした教育が続いていたのだから国民の３分の２以上がサダム教育を受けた人でしょう。
 

私は、だから子供たちを解放するためにイラクを攻撃すべきだ、とは言っていません。
もしかしたらこのほうが彼らにとって幸せなのかも知れませんし。
ただ私が言いたいのは、
盲目的に反戦と言うべきでも、彼らを知らずに「戦争やむなし」というどこかの首相みたいなことでもなく、
みんなにイラクの人を知って、考えてもらいたいのです。
絶対的な価値判断は『どれがイラクの人たちにとって幸せなのかどうか』なのですから。
