しかしこれにはリオン・ウェアの「come
live with me angel」がはいっているんです。
「come live with
me angel」は、マーヴィン・ゲイの「i want you」に収録されている曲です。
この「i want you」は、もともとリオン・ウェアの作品集として発表する予定のものをマーヴィン・ゲイが気に入り、「横取り」したともいわれているものです。
この曲「come live with me angel」もリオン・ウェア・ヴァージョンは19年後、1995年の「taste
the love」まで発表されていませんでした。
ライナーをみると、ディスク・ナンバーのところに「gordy
7148(cancelled) and motown 1368(cancelled)」と書いてあり、2回発売される予定があり、いずれもキャンセルされたことを物語っています。
そういう背景もあり、このヴァージョンのディスク化には格別なものがあります。
しかもこれはminnie ripertonとのデュエットです！
待ちに待ったこともあり、たいへん感慨深いです。
