CALOPO (Calopogonium mucunoides)
Along with Centro and Puero, Calopo was one of the several cover crops introduced to Australia for testing as a pasture legume. However, commercial pastures based on Calopo were found to be short lived and unpalatable to stock. However, assessment in the seasonally reading grazed by stock especially during, dry season.
Arrange in 2-4 flowered stalk less branches in axils of leaves or in 2-5 flowered bunches on auxiliary raceme to 15 cm. Long on long hairy stalks. The flower is pale blue in 1cm long.
