Causative Agent: Adenoviridae |
Transmission: Horizonal & Vertical |
Incubation Period: 1 to 2 weeks |
Morbidity: 10 to 15% |
Mortality: 1 to 10% |
Age Group affected: 3 to 14 weeks old |
Signs: 1. Anemia or paleness 2. Jaundice 3. Decrease in egg production |
Gross Lesions: 1. Bone Marrow - Paleness 2. Liver - hemorrhagic and enlarged 3. Subcutaneous tissues - Presence of edema 4. Muscles - hemorrhagic 5. Bursa of Fabricius - atrophied |
Diagnosis: 1. Blood consistancy - watery and paler in color than normal 2. Gross lesions |
Differential Diagnosis: 1. Inclusion Body Hepatitis 2. Infectious Brusal Disease (IBD) |
Prevention: Vaccinate birds against IBD which is a predisposing factor |
Control: 1. All-in, all-out system of stocking 2. Maintain good health and sanitation of farm premises |
