The Rich Young Man
A YOUNG MAN from a rich family came running up to Jesus and knelt before him. "Lord, what must I do to gain etenral life?" "Have you kept all the commandments?" Jesus asked him. " I have, Lord."
"Then nothing remains but for you to sell everything you own, distribute your money among the poor, and folow me. Then you will find your treasure in Heaven."
The young man looked appalled, for he had great possessions, and sadly he turned away. Jesus looked at him with love, understanding how difficult it was for such a man to give up all that he owned. "You see, " he said to the disciples, "it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."
