Next day we went to SF by Bart to see around bay area of SF and to get on boat to Alcatraz island again.
We got on the famous cable car in SF to go to bayarea nearby SF visitor center. There are a loto of steep sloops in SF. We walked around bayarea for 1hour before getting on the boat. When we visited Fort Mason, a lot of cherries blossom there. So it seem it is in spring. We returned around pier 39 and went to gate of departure to Alcatraz island. I wanted to go the island. Alcatraz is very famous island. I knew it from a movie" Escape from Alcatraz" So, Alcatraz which used to have a famous prison is a island. It was interesting very much.And I could see a lot of gulfs and beautifull scenary, Golden Gate Bridge, bay bridge of SF to Oakland, tall buildings in SF. I could listen explaining of Alcatraz island in Japanese language due to tape. If you want to get on the boat to Alcatraz, I guess you should make resarvation a few days before. When we arrived at the gate, the ticket was already sold out. We had the ticket though because Matt had made reservation before. After we came back bay area, we went into pier 39 and walked around there. We had some seafood there, Matt orderd raw oysters. It seem many people like them. Taste is so good. After that, we came back Powell by muni and got on BART to Berkeley. We went to a grocery store to something to eat and drink. Matt dosen't drink though. I surely wanted to buy whiskey or burbon but the grocery store dosen't have beside wine, beer and Japanese Sake.So I bought a bottle of red wine. Of course the wine was lost in the night. |

Next day mom took us to Berkeley. We picked Matt's gran-mom on the way to Berkeley on Fair field. After that mom took us Ashby station where is closer than Berkeley.
We would go to SF to see the Golden Gate Bridge. We got on Bart to SF at the station. We got off at Powell to get a texi. We went to the Golden Gate Bridge by the texi. I took a lot of pics but now I didn't still upload though. I could also get good scenary from on the bridge. Matt and I walked through the bridge and we looked for bus stop to came back however we couldn't get. Therefore we returned by walking. But that was not bad, it was so lucky for me. I wanted to walk on the bridge more because I like hiking very much. After that we went to Golden Gate Bridge Park by texi. We walked around Japanese garden. It was very interesting. We dronk Japanese tea there. We also went to museum near by Japanese garden hoever we couldn't enter there because it was almost close, we were little bit late. So we went to downtown of SF to walk around. After that we came back Berkeley and had Thai food near by the station. |

Next morning after breakfast, mom took us Yosemite National Park by her driving. The day was rained. However tha day could really be so good. I really hoped I saw the park. I heard from Matt that the park was so nice. I also watched NHK program on TV. It took for about 3hours from her house. I arrived there afternoon. I could see the huge park, is called YOSEMITE. The park is wonderfull. It has huge moutains, green trees, burned trees, clean creaks and tall falles. We drived around there as look around after that we entered a shop to buy something. We bought food for lunch and I also bought a T-shirt and a grass corster as my survenir. After we had lunch, we tried to climb up to top of upper Yosemite fall. However we could not make it, we returned the way because we don't have enough time. Anyway I was so happy, I like hiking and moutains. We could have exercise for health. After we went down,we came back to Lodi by mom's driving. I think she was so tired due to driving and hiking. I am appreciating her kindness. After coming back, we had dinner and drunk, surely Matt and I also enjoyed taking spa together again. |

I planed my trip to SF to visit my friend. I bought my flight ticket of UA for about 80,000 at H.I.S Jan.31th. It included tax and other. Anyway, I left Kansai Int. Air. for San Francisco Air at 3:35 Feb. 10th. It took about 9hours. It was very fine around Osaka, in the sky and SFO. I arrived SFO at 9:00 Feb 10th(SF local time) and I met my friend Matt. He came to there to take me to his house. We got on the bus to Colma staition on BART and after that we changed to BART at the station. He had already bought pre-paid card instead of tiket of BART to give me. We got off the train at Berkeley st. and we went to his house by walking. After I put my baggage into his house, we went out to walk around. He suggested that we had Mexican food at nice Mexican restraunt near Berkeley station. So we had Mexican food for lunch. After that we walked around College of Berkeley. The college is so beatifull and huge. It seem there were a lot of races in college. I thought it was world, it was a little world. We got on bus to Berkeley marina in front of the college. We saw sun-set to SF over sea on Berkeley pier together. We had Japanese food close to the station. However I don't really want to talk about the taste at all. Next morning his roommate Steeve took us to Asian market me to buy something to cook. The market was big but I don't know where the market is at all though. It was close to horse racing course. After Steeve took us to their house to put food into the house, he took us to Amtrak stop again. I surely saw Amtrack stop of Berkeley first time. I have never seen train stop in Japan. It was surprised. After short time, Amtrak came there and we got on the train to go Sacramento where is the capital city of CA state. It took about 2 hours and it costed about U.S.$28, Iwas not sure though. His mom waited for us to take us her house at Sacramento station, she showed me down town of Sacramento. Next she introduced her daughter who is also my friend's elder sister, Jennifer at a hotel near by Sacramento. She gave me a ball-top-pen as survenir. After that we went to a huge market Casko? to buy cook BBQ. and we went to her house in Lodi. She lives with her husband Chris in Lodi. They everyone had so kindness for me. I was glad very much. They gave me BBQ and other, and beverage as I want. I drunk very much. And They have private spa in their garden, Matt and I enjoyed to taking spa together. That was really good! |

I could upload this page a little but it is not parfect. I uploaded some pictures of my hiking Gansenji-Yamashiro Jan. 26th. The distanse is about 30km. It took for 5hours and 30minutes by walking. I will travel to San Francisco to visit my friend,Matt Feb.10-17th. He will take me several places in SF and especially he and his mom pick me up to Yosemite national park! Oh great, What a wonderfull! I am looking forward that. |

| I bought a new camera which was made by CASIO by yahoo's auction. The camera is very thin and right. But I have not gotton it yet:( Maybe it would reach at me next Sat. Now I am looking forward it. The camera can be my favorite stuff. I would take a lot of pics on hiking. I am planning to next hiking this weekend. |

| I went to IKOMA Mt. to hike up Nov. 23th. What a beautiful! The mountain has lot of colors whole it. I started walking from my condo where is close to HYOTANYAMA, HIGASHI-OSAKA at 9 a.m. I arrived at entrance of RAKURAKUTOZANDOU of Mt.IKOMA. After then I walked slowly and sometimes took pictures because scenery was so good! And I could get fresh air enough. I climbed up through beautiful way. I went to BOKURANOHIROBA in NARUKAWA park. I took some pictures there. Mt.IKOMA is mautains in fact. So I didn't climb up real top of the moutain this time. The real top looks like amusement park. Actualy we can go to the top by cable-car. I don't like getting on it to climb up the moutain.Anyway I was on another top. I could saw beutiful mountains called NARA SANZAN around Mt.IKOMA. Next I left for KURAGARI-TOUGE. KURAGARI means not bright or dark. TOUGE means a pass over mountain. At present, KURAGARITOUGE is not dark. I can imagine for that it would be dark around there long time ago. It was difficult for old people to travel round NARA to OSAKA. We can sometimes look at some white boards on the way. Old traditional poetries are written on the board. Sorry but I don't understand for that they mean. We can take rest at the TOUGE-CHAYA around KURAGARITOUGE. It looks like cafe though it is Japanese fusion We can drink Japanese tea, beer or something else. However the cafe dosen't open in winter. I have my favorite resaurant on the way to climb down the moutain. It is "lucky garden". It is in real nature. We can have meal at table outside in good season. It located very good scenery. It is Sri Lanka resaurant. If you go to there, I suggest you make reservation. I arrived at 11:40. On the day,it was buffet. Always the taste is very good.I had enough:) After then I left for KORIYAMA through YATA hilles at 12:30. I climbed down to MINAMI-IKOMA and climbed up YATA hilles. YATA hilles is similur to small mountain. I walked to KOURIYAMA castle for long time.I arrived at there begore 16:00. The castle is close to KORIYAMA station. I got on the train of KINTETSU line and chaneged line for HYOUTANYAMA of KINTESTSU NARA line at SAIDAIJI station to come back. Although I got tired but I enjoyed hiking all day. Around Mt.IKOMA |
