オールドルアーについてのこだわり 　Contemplation to The Old Lures

　最近の日本製量産プラグには、冗談ぽいものも多く、見ただけで思わず噴出してしまうことがある。ウルトラマン、潜水艦、イルカ、などなど。これらで釣れたらさぞかし面白いだろうと思ったりもする。勿論昔もいろいろ面白いルアーがあった。へドンのメドウマウスはねずみそっくりであった。ルアーの起源はいろいろな説があるが、モンゴルの幻の魚イトウを釣るのに、地元の人は日ごろ地ねずみの皮を剥いだものに針をつけたルアーを使うらしい。その形たるやメドウマウスそっくりである。
　古いルアーはおおむね大型である。昔は魚がさほどスレていないこともあったかもしれないが、バスの類は自分の体の半分以上の大きさの餌にもアタックするといわれていることから、大きいルアーはそのつくり手の大物を捕らえることへの思い入れが感じられる。その点、今日のルアーはこじんまりと妙にまとまりすぎて大物をひきつける何かが足りないような気がする。
　There are many funny plugs in the mass production ones which are made in recent such as The ultra-man, the sub, the dolphin, and so on. I think that it is very fun to fish by these lures. Of course, there were funny lures variously before, too. It is similar to the mouse to "Meadow Mouse". There are various opinions in the origin of the lure but to fish Ito in Mongolia, the local person seems to use the lure which put a needle to the one to have peeled skin of the shrewmouse around the day. It is similar to the form cask and "Meadow Mouse".
The old lure is usualy large-sized. It may have had a fish scarcely but because it says that the kind of the bus attacks a bait with size above the half of its body, too, as for the big lure, contemplation to catching the big fish of the lure builders are felt. However, recent lures are rather small I think.

現在、日本製のタックルやルアー等がアメリカのバスシーンに少なからず影響を与えていることは誰でもたやすく想像できると思う。例えば精密機械や、精度のよい部品などを作る技術は日本が世界でもトップクラスにあることがこれらのことに起因する。もともと、日本人はとても器用だと言われてきた。その日本人が作るリールやロッドは後発でありながら、すぐさま本場アメリカの製品を席巻してしまった。ルアーも釣るための目的を超越して、芸術の分野にも足を踏み入れてしまった観がある。 ハンドメイドのルアーの多くがそのリアルさを追求したのと並行して、量産ルアーでありながら、手作りの雰囲気をのこし、且つオリジナルの形状を売りにしたルアーがあった。今回紹介する日本製ルアーがその一つである。タックルハウス製の「JILL」である。幅が５mm程度の細身の体ながら、ゆっくりと体をくねって泳ぐ。シンキングタイプなので、根掛かりを減らすためにダブルフックをつけている。そのボディの美しい仕上がりに、いつもキャストをためらってしまう。
I think that everyone can easily imagine the tackle and the lure, etc. made in Japan influencing the bus scene in the United States in no small way now. Because it is a sinking- type lure, a double hook is applied to decrease the root hanging. It has a really beautiful body, so I always hesitate to cast it.
