Jago on Macintosh

JagoClient: Copyright (C) Rene Grothmann
This page is made for those who want to use Jago on Macintosh.
You need "PowerPC" and "MacOS7.6.1 or later". [Japanese]
I made this page for users of MacOS 7.6.1 - 9.* (Classic environment). I'm sorry; now I don't use MacOS X, and I know nothing about MacOS X or later. MacOS X-Users should check Dr. Grothmann's website where you can get "Jago for MacOS X using Java Web Start".
Go Board of Jago
Jago is a client software for telnet Go servers (IGS, NNGS, WING, LGS, etc.) written in Java by Dr. Grothmann. I made this page with Dr. Grothmann's permission.

How to use Jago on Macintosh :
  1. Users of MacOS 8.1 - 9.* : Download the latest version of MRJ from Apple's Java site. (Users of MacOS7.6.1 or 8.0 : Download MRJ2.1.4 at its "DOWNLOAD PREVIOUS MRJ RELEASES" part.)
  2. Install that MRJ and restart.
  3. Download jagosystem.sit and unstuff it.
  4. Open "Jago v3.65" folder and doubleclick the starter file "Jago". (Starter file "Jago_de" is for German user, "Jago_ja" is for Japanese user.)

Screenshots of Jago : 1, 2, 3 (German version), 4 (German version)

You can get general information about Jago from Dr. Grothmann's website.

My description above is almost outdated now (Jan. 2002). Now you'd better use "Jago with Java Web Start" provided at Dr. Grothmann's website. Check its "Installation" page, please, although you need Mac OS X to use "Java Web Start".
