8/31/02
Today I played
multiplayer with Nelson, SOF, and JPNking. Replay.
In this game
I forgot two things. One is to make a cannon. Dumb right? Laugh if you want to!!
Second is to help out SOF when he was attacking JPNKing. Another reason for
losing is that I didn't use roundshier
effectively, therefore I couldn't push through to the enemy territory.
8/30/02
Today I
fought against the very hard, to practice the economy and to use tatar. Well
tatar was quite good. You don't
need a merc.
archer and you don't need to upgrade it so you can save a lot of money.
Well in the battle, I founded out that it is impossible to have them in the battle
without any guard, but I think it can be used with merc
dragoons, janissaries and other mercenaries. I'll find out on Sunday.

Today I played
pt 30 with ume. I thought I can save a game and play it again, but I guess its
impossible in rated game. Well I found out that tatar
is fabulous!! Because I don't have to upgrade, and saves a lot of resources, so
from next time, I think I would use a tatar.
8/28/02
First I must
apologize that the strategies and economy section's updates stopped for a quite
a long day. Good thing is that the SAT prep course will end this week so I have
a time to work on those article, so please don't just think like this site is
over. The back to war is coming, and there are more things that is able to find
out.

Today I
played the no pt game (Cossacks) with ume. I experienced if the musketeers will
be useful in the no pt games, but I think it won't work. To know why, you can
look at the replay.
Well, I'll
change the subject and talk a little about Ukraine. Isn't it too strong? (Well,
in particular rules, of course.) In no pt, it can't be raided by the cossacks.
In no art, the muskets are strong like crazy! In 30pt no rules, it is
manageable (Because I can use towers and arts) but for like pt60 no art is like
undefeatable, unless there is so much difference between the level of the
players. How do you think?

SO BUSY!!!!!
It is painful to have a school. No game today, but I worked little bit on
musketeer article and add some of the link of American Conquest.

Playing the
American Conquest Beta. I am using Aztec, but I couldn't get enough resources
to make 2nd fortress. And I wonder how could every one get that big
army. well, what ever. I think I would find more about it when the product
comes out.

Today I
got the beta version of American Conquest from my friend. The first impression
is that it is difficult to manage the economy and the army, because you have to
send the peasants to the fortress to get the soldiers. Next thing is that the
attacks are more realistic. For example, Aztec spearman can both fight hand to
hand or throw the spear at them. The worst thing is that the problem of
starvation is more serious than the Cossacks. It takes time to get the food.
Finally, many things are becoming expensive.
If I compared
to Cossacks, I think the Cossacks will be easier to manage in pt games but for
American Conquest it has more balance in the no pt games.

School is
busy and no time for a game yesterday. Today, I tried to get American conquest
Beta demo, but I will get it tomorrow. So tomorrow, I think I can write a
little review.

Today I went
to an official lobby and played a no pt game. Well I don't play in the official
lobby very much and I think I am the quite strong side if I played 30pt no
rules. (Of course there is stronger people. I am the one of the weakest one in
the IRC #Cossacks).
Well anyway,
the point I wanted to say is that I have a quite a good confidence in 30pt but
I don't have so much in the no pt games. As the result, I lost badly. The thing
I learned is that the tower is better for open spaces because it will shoot
your own building. From the next time, I'll try to use the Tower as the support
for attacking. Replay

Today I
played no pt Army of Peasants with F-MOTO. I used Turkey And F-MOTO used
Algeria. Because F-MOTO has more peasants, he said that he had to kill some
peasants to produce some units. The best point about this game is that you
don't have to worry about the food so much and also you are able to do the
"Forge Harnesses for Horses very fast. So I think the Poland might be the
best Country for this rule. Because it has broad population limit and it is
able to produce light

No game today
because of the Essay for the A.P. Biology (T_T). It isn't happy, but biology is
my favorite subject, so I have to finish it today.
8/18/02
Today, I did
some experiment with musketeer. First, I measured the range.
The
musketeers' range is quite puzzling and we don't know the exact distance. In the
Unit Analysis, I wrote a range in number, (such as 800 or 900), but it was hard
to apply it to the game, because you don't know the 800 is a centimeter or
inches. But in today's experiment, I founded out that the distant that the
infantry moves per 1gt is measured as 100. So now you can understand, that
for Dutch
Musketeer to shoot the merc
dragoons, they have to survive for 1gt.
In second
experiment, I did the similar experiment with the Experiment in 8/15/02, but
with some guard. I will tell the result when I update a new article.
The third
experiment is to prove that archer
isn't so threatening. Well I experimented with 300 archers vs 100 janissaries
which is upgraded until Lv 4 and with one academy attack upgrade (+15%) and a
reload upgrade. The Result is that Janissary wins by 76 surviving. This shows
that the Algerian Archers isn't so effective in the game with longer than 30pt.
8/17/02
Today I
played 30pt no rules with F-MOTO. It was the slow game and I wasn't able to
make cannon.
In the end of
the pt, I was winning by the score, but I think I was losing by army size.
However I was making Howitzer
so I was able to get rid of the enemy army. However I forgot to make mullah
(T_T). I think this battle shows how powerful the howitzer is and it will
change the battle dramatically, if you have at least 3. Replay.

Playing
the no pt with tibita, sea of Japan and ume. I was team with Tibita, and he was
quickly attacked by sea of Japan. The mercenary army of the ume was advancing
toward me, and when I started to make 60 merc
dragoons to get rid of ume's army, the Algerian archers of sea of japan
come and I had to surrender (T_T).
In today's
battle I forgot to make towers and church, and also I build 3rd town
hall before the diplo. Also I recognized that the merc
dragoons are effective in only 10~30. Replay.

Practicing
the Economy. I don't know why, but today, I didn't have so much gold. I didn't
forget to make a mosque today.
From today I
started to write a "Using Musket" and I did some experiment. This
experiment is pike charging to a muskets.

Well, I there
is not a data for a normal
musket but so what.
As you see,
all musketeers, except janissary and Dutch musketeers are weak. Spanish wears
armor so it can be used, but I think you shouldn't use others.

Today I
practiced my economical build up. I made, 4 barracks but I forgot to produce
janissaries. Also I forgot to make mosques. I think I should practice until
making the mosque will be a habit.

Finished writing a "Tips to Use Tower"
Playing no pt
with Jisyuca, a player in the IRC #Cossacks. A little explanation about #
Cossacks. #Cossacks is the channel for IRC (abbreviation for Internet Relay
Chat). It is the place where Japanese Cossacks player seek for their opponents
and review their game play. (However the reality is that it is an ordinary chat
room.)
Well lets
move on to the game play. I lost, like every other time. I don't win at
#Cossacks so often. Well game ended up Jisyuca attacking me all the time. One
of the reason I lost is that Jisyuca used stand still mode with his formation,
Which will give you a defense bonus of +9, so my formation just died. Another
is that I made a tower in the place which is almost useless, so from the next
time, I should make a tower after scouting. Replay.
8/12/02
No game
and no updates for today. Instead, I fixed some place that you have to encode,
or you couldn't go. For example, I fixed the link to the Yat's economy, so if
you are interested, please have a look.
Changed
my mind and I played no pt30 minutes score with Nazo, KATZE, and sea of
Japan.everyone else was random, but I chose Turkey.I was team with sea of
Japan, and we actually won by score, but we were being attacked for many times
so it was a nice battle. The first threat was combination of the light
infantry and archer
(both are from barracks), but this wasn't so hard to annihilate. However the cossacks
of KATZE took my mine. But because of three towers, other didn't threat my town
so much. Finally I attacked Nazo with120 formation and the 20 Dragoons.
But the pikes have decreased to about half because of the cannon, but it did
some damage to the enemy town and the time over and we won by score. Replay

Today
I played 1vs1 30pt no rules with Sufiy, the strongest player in the IRC
#Cossacks. Replay is here.
The result is my big defeat. Oh !! I hate multi-barrel
cannon!! one thing that I recognized is that I should make roundshier,
rather than light
infantryman. Before this battle I was making light infantryman, because it
has cheaper keeping cost. But today, tower didn't work at all, and cannon was
useless because of the hill. So for Turkey, it is safer to use the unit that
can go against the multi-barrel as lot as I can, but when I'm going to use
other countries I might use light infantry. Also in this battle I thought the
pt will end in very long gt so I didn't produce anything from the diplo until
the last ten minutes, so that might be the another reason that I was defeated.
Today
I practiced my economy building for the upcoming multi-play for tomorrow. In my
home there is a rule that I can only play cossacks for 30min in weekdays, but
in Sunday, I can play an hour, so I can play pt 30. for other days, I play no
pt or I will practice my economy. Sometimes, play with editor or do campaigns.
From
here I'll talk about the game play. Today's map was fabulous!! There is three
gold mines around and you didn't have to search a lot for them. However,
efficiency of getting wood was so bad, so I should look for bigger forest from
next time.
There
is another thing that doesn't have any thing to do with the game. I'm now
writing gTips to use tower, but if you want to any thing you want to inform me
please mail me.
Today
I played no pt with Tim2, Tibita and Katze. In today's battle, I did two stupid
mistakes. One is that I forgot to do the food efficiency upgrade at mill. During
the battle I wondered why the food doesn't go over 1000. Another is that I
forgot to upgrade my pikes. This was horrible, because I couldn't win against
the same amount of enemy pikeman.
However,
I found about two things. One is that the priest's ability is very strong,
especially when you have only few units. Another is that building the tower in
the middle of the town will greatly increase your defense in your town. Please
