Some screenshots of Espra, a work-in-progress Freenet client specifically designed to allow the distribution of music, and incorporating a voluntary payment mechanism, have been made available on the Espra website. Espra is 0.0.4.9 is downloadable from their website. In the future, it will allow you to create catalogs of music, share those catalogs with others, and merge other people's catalogs into your own leading to bigger and bigger repositories of music.

The Freenet project released a new version of Freenet today. It has a number of stability and performance improvements. Also included are new features for pseudo-updating ("date-based redirects"), maintaining mapping files for large Freenet Web sites ("MSKs"), and filtering of Freenet Web sites to protect reader anonymity.
