Eriko Warns You

Why did I write this page?

Most of the readers may have met me at Yahoo! Japan chat, Yahoo! Korea chat, Yahoo! China chat, etc.   Although I usually enjoy pretty much talking with lots of people visiting there, nevertheless I regret to say that there are, as might always be the case in webchat, some persons who behave quite annoying because of mental immaturity.   The aim of this page is to educate such people to have minimal etiquette and morality in chatting, thus keeping our chat decent (if you are mentally mature enough, therefore, you do not need to read this page).

Follow these rules, or don't talk to me

  1. If you don't know much about me, don't try to get started by asking me some silly questions like
    Where are you from?
    How old are you?
    Are you M / F?    etc, etc . . .
I don't have any obligation to answer any one of that sort of questions.  You must keep in mind that I am there for chatting, not for interrogation.
It is natural to take pretty much time for two persons to get to understand each other.   Furthermore, the only thing worth paying attention is how a person thinks, not his/her ASL, occupation, etc.   That is the way I think webchat ought to be (I must admit that I tend to think that way even when I am off my PC, though).
  2. I am not fond of voice-chatting.   Don't attempt to enforce me to use a mic.   It is none of your business whether I prefer chatting by voice or by letters.
  3. Never ask me any FAQ.   Read the help document 100 times before you ask me a question (It's a pity that most of those stupid chatters even don't know the presence of Yahoo JP chat tutorial, yahoo.com chat help, etc, etc . . . )
  4. As stated in my PP, it is my policy to ignore any PMs from strangers.   If you still don't quit PMing me after you read my PP, then I will regard that you dare to violate my privacy.   Remember that I am ready to take any necessary measure for retaliation in that case.
