Individual Trip
We had to arrenge our trip by ourself because it was individual trip this time. What airline we chose was most difficult problem I thought. First, we select Hong Kong Casei Pacific Air because it was very cheep but my friend didn't like that company such as Asia. She likes European companies and wants to see European countries. So, we dicided Austrian Airlines at last. I bought some postcards in an airport of Vienna and sent it to my friends immediately. That was only thing what we could do there except for toilet! We reserved at a hotel before I left and just two night we stayed in hotel. Other night we stayed in my friend's house. That's why it was reasonable trip we could.
If we go around Britain, we need a Brit Rail pass. It's smart.
There was not a trouble at all and met Al again smoothly in Heathlow Airport. And he took us to our hotel!
Remember me??
Next day we arrived at London Al took us around there and met his friend, Bee who came to Japan in April again. He said Bee was not his girlfriend but...I wonder... Anyway, we visited Nottinghill and Kengington to go shopping. Before I left for Japan, I watch famous movie "Nottinghill" which was acted by Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts. Oh, I was there! After that, we said saw them later to Al and Bee, and went to Cambridge. Mrs. Kyoko and Mr. Jackson who is her friend had been waiting for us in Cambridge station and had a wonderful dinner in Kyoko's flat. She usually lived in Eye which is little far from Cambridge, so we could stayed in her flat. Next day we met Oliver and Richard again. I was happy that thay remembered me!
I visited the dormitory where we stayed last year!
When I stayed in Cambridge, my friends wanted to go shopping in London but I wanted to go around Cambridge. So I went for a walk alone and visited the dormitory where we stayed last year. Nothing changed there! And then I just came into the house to go to toilet... In the evening, we went to Mr. Richard's house to have a dinner. He is a member of The Japanese Railway Society and we talked about the history of Railway. Anyway, we had a wonderful time there. Of course, I gave him a Japanese survenior. Next day my friends all went shopping in London! And so, I met Al in cafe, Cambridge. After that we met Fiena who used to be Al's girlfriend by chance. But she had a new boyfriend. Most Japanese surprised that many lovers who are European and American would meet each other after they broke up. I've never met my girlfriends who used to be.
Go to Scotland!
At last we went to Al's hometown in Scotland. His house is near Edingburgh, called Athelstaneford. It took about 6 hours to get there from Cambridge but on our way in Peterburgh we changed a train. After we arrived there, changed local train. We were very surprised that the door was not automatic and we had to opened by ourself. Our train went through the beautiful scotish countryside, and arrived at the station near his house on 15 minute. His mother came there and said hello to her. She was very kindness and good at cooking! There are no post offices and shops but I like it. I want to live there in the future! After all, I was sure that my staying would be great.
Everyday sightseeing!
Al took us somewhere in Scotland. Edingburgh, Glasgow, Sterling and Northberwick. There were very very nice cities and I want to visit again someday, but I was afraid of old jail in Sterling.
Before the day we went back to Japan, Al and his friend stieve took us to Edingburgh station to see us off. And the we stayed in a hotel, London. It was some humburgers that my last meal in Endland. We were very tired...
It was short stay in my all trip abroad but the best trip. I never forget all troubles and happy memories. I'm sure that we will be able to meet Al somewhere someday!
