Oct 14, ( Thanksgiving day)

今日はThanksgivingですが、ターキー焼いてる場合じゃありません。先週あたりからイチョウがGinkgo bolibaとかチューリップがTulipa hybridaとかぶつぶつ言って、みんなに嫌がられてる今日この頃です。 まあ友達が泊まりに来たり、ケベックからSylvieがやってきたりといろいろはあったんですがね。昨日は久々にKorean townに行ったんですが。来て２日目にして韓国人の彼氏の作る韓国料理にすっかりあきたSylvieちゃんは何がNormalなものが食いたいとのことで、スイスシャレーIn Korean townでご飯を食べました。このお店は鳥嫌いで有名なOmbleさんがKECの次に破壊したいと思ってるぐらい、鳥・鳥・鳥のお店でDenny'sに感じが似てます。ローストチキンが有名ですが、私はChicken pot pieを食べました。そのあと近くのKorean Barに行ったんですが、カクテルを頼もうとしても、作り方がわからないといわれたり、バーテンダーに英語が通じない始末。ここはトロントじゃないのか！！！！！まあかなり馬鹿騒ぎで楽しかったけど さてお勉強戻りますかね。 2002年10月15日 09時10分48秒

Oct 12, ( Thanks giving weekend)

I am supposed to be happy that it is a long weekend, but I cannot.... From next Tue, mid term exams will begin. I should have known that there would be so many tests if I was taking 10 courses.Moreover, some teachers who have class on Monday have to do exams on somewhere in next week, so they are planning to do that at our lunch time. Aw......so when can we eat lunch? Even though my friend will come here from Quebec, I have to study... Such a nice holiday!! I hadn't gone watching movies for a long time because the movie theatre at Woodbine centre had been shut down, but it re-opened again. So, my friend, Nicole, and I decided to do our old custom, eating KFC and watching movies on Tue. The good thing is the ticket is cheaper than it was used to be. $4.25 for new movies is quite good. There were several movies that we wanted to watch, such as "The Fat Greek Wedding", "Sweet Home Alabama", and "Red Dragon". The first two movies are very girly, and one of our friends, a French guy, didn't want to see Chick movies. So, we decided to watch "Red Dragon". It was the story before "The silence of the lamb". I though the movie would be gross as Hannibal, but it wasn't..that much... The story was well written, and many surprises. I recommmended to watch "the silence of the lamb"again before you watch the movie. ha.... I have to go back to study. 2002年10月12日 23時20分32秒

Oct 17, ( getting cold and cold...should I wear a coat or not?)

いやーかなりご無沙汰してます。課題やテストが目白押しでちょっと息切れ状態です。特に今一番力を入れてるのが・・Plant Identificationクラスの葉っぱ集め。今週の土曜日は朝１０時からMount Pleasant Cemetaryにて先生と一緒に足りない葉っぱを集めるツアーが・・・。なぜ土曜の朝っぱらからお墓に行かなくては・・。Mount PlesantはSt,ClareとEglintonの間にあるでっかい墓地なんですが、ちょっと新宿御苑みたいなかんじ。ジョギングや散歩してる人も多いし。授業自体は楽しくて、先生は大興奮でいろんな木について教えてくれました。興奮しすぎて人のお墓を踏んだりしてたけど、（こっちの墓石って平らだから）のろわれませんように。２０人ぐらいの生徒が集まったんですが、先生が何かいうたびにいっせいに剪定ばさみを取り出して、葉っぱを切っていく姿はちょっと怖いけど。２−３時間後にはバックパックに入れた各種類の葉でみんな葉っぱ人間みたいになってました。おかけ様で課題の葉っぱ全部そろったし。何が楽しいって、歩いてて木の名前や学名が分かるようになってきたこと。先生曰く、これが一番の醍醐味らしい。大学のとき新宿御苑で全く同じことをやったときはめんどくさいな・・ぐらいだったのに。人間変わりますね。困るのは普通に道を歩いててもどの木がどの種類のMapleって気になってしょうがない。木を見るたびに枝を引っ張ったり、葉を取ったり、変なやつになってます。＜br＞さてまた月曜日。今週末はThanks givingで３連休なので楽しみです。ではでは。 2002年10月07日 18時53分52秒

Sep 24, ( the weather is getting cool)

今月は本当に忙しいです。予想はしてたけどここまでとは・・毎日家に帰って、宿題して、寝ての繰り返しです。映画に行く暇もなしです。ここで、私のとっているLandscaping Technicianプログラムについて。要するに造園コースなんですが。やってることは土方です。害虫学、植物学、芝生の手入れ、測量の仕方などを勉強しつつ、毎週水曜日は花壇の手入れと土木の実習です。毎日８時から５時までみっちり・・・・大学時代よりちょっときついです。大学のときの実習着をひっぱりだし、安全靴、ゴーグル、手袋、ヘルメットをつけるとレゴブロックにしか見えません。腰には剪定ばさみ、ナイフ、メジャー・・・どこから見ても立派な土方です。課題とかもちょっと変わってて、５種類の芝生の種を渡されて、育てながらどの種類の芝生か決定するのとか、いろんな種類の葉をあつめてスクラッチブックをつくったり、学校内を測量したり、他の友達がコンピューターのプログラミングで悩んでる間、わたしは害虫の名前を覚えるので一苦労。何かが間違ってる・・・。ということで明日は実習の日です。レゴブロックになってがんばります。 2002年09月25日 09時30分00秒

Sep 18, ( a bit hot for working outside)

OUCH...... my back is killing me. Today, I had 8hrs outside working. First 4 hrs was the horticulure practice. It means planting flowers and getting rid of weeds. We cleaned annual benches( The one-year flowers garden) and planted some bulbs for nexy year. My teacher told each students to work different places. She told me to clean the end of the garden where poisonous plants are........ My classmates said me not to eat those plants; otherwise, I am not gonna see them again.... I won't EAT!!!!! After the one hr break, There was Construction practice class today. I wore safety boots, safey glasses, a hard hat, and a measure. When I wore the green hard hat, I looked like a Lego doll. We are gonna constract a garden path for next 12 wks. Today, we learned how to use a compressure. The machine makes the ground flat, but it was very strong machine. When I turned on, the machine moved ahead by itself. I was just following the machine. After the class, my back is so sore.... I cannot bent my back now. I am getting old for this kind of shit. hum......... Anyway, I have to take a rest to be able to go to school tomorrow. 2002年09月19日 10時38分12秒

Sep 16, ( 20C... it is a gergious day)

大分お休みしてました。水曜日の夜から家族が来て、学校に行きながらの強行スケジュールだったので、家に帰っても数時間寝て学校に行くって感じでしたね。４日ながらと短い日程でしたが、とろんと見るには十分すぎるほどでしょう。今回は友達に家族の面倒をすっごーーーーく見てもらったので、誰の親だ？ってかんじでしたね。今まで我慢して買えなかったものを結構買ってもらってほくほくです。木曜はGreek town,金曜はBule jaysゲームを見に行きました。あたしは飲んでるのに忙しかったけど、どうやらjaysが勝ちました。１３日の金曜日だけにJaysonっていう選手が活躍してておかしかったけど。土曜日はレンタカーを借りてナイアガラとナイアガラオンザレイクに行ってきました。友達も誘って行ったんだけど、なにせ運転するのが久しぶりだったから、結構みんなに怖い思いさせたかも。夕方からは雷雨になって、レンタカーでどうやってワイパーを動かすかも分からないのに、高速で土砂降りでほんとに前が見えなくなって、ちょっとなきそうになりました。日曜日にみんな帰ったんだけど、宿題を全然やってなかったので、いまだに寝る暇ありません。今週もタフかな・・・。 2002年09月17日 10時22分05秒

Sep 10, ( a hot day again)

いやー今日は暑かった。クラスの中にいると寒くて分かんないんだけど、一歩外に出るとムシムシ。今週から本格的に授業が始まり、ちょっと死に掛かってます。大学でやったことを英語でやり直してるとはいえ、やっぱり本科はたいへんね・・・。日本語で覚えてた花や木の名前もぜーーーーんぶ覚えなおしだし。大学のときに授業聞いてのか？っていうぐらい忘れてる自分がいます。しかし一番初めの害虫学はきつかった・・。日本語でも理解しなかくて、ぎりぎり受かったやつなのに、もう一回とるはめになるとわ・・。明日は実習で鉢の植え替えをするらしい。ほんとに農学部系。でも安全靴とヘルメットとゴーグルが要るって・・何するんだ？ ＜br＞ちなみに明日は例の９月１１日ですが、それにも関わらす、うちの家族がカナダに遊びにきます。案の定飛行機は空いてるらしい。普通の人は避けるもんね・・。まあ何事もないことを祈りまして、家族のお相手をしてる間の宿題をしなければならないので、このへんで。 2002年09月11日 10時36分00秒

Sep 8, ( It is 30C again... My room is boiling)

This weekend was the last weekend that I could enjoy. From the next week, I will be so busy for my program. Moreover, My mom and brother will come here, so I have to take care of them. On Friday, there was the Japanese girls' party with age restriction at my friend's house. Peole who joined this party had to be over 26 yrs old. We bought some drinks and pizza. What we did was mostly talking!! I stayed up until 4am, but the rest of us went to bad at 6am... They are tough. On the next day, I had the appointment with another friend for shopping. We just needed to buy school stuff, so it wasn't so much fun, and I was soooooooooooooo sleepy because of the party. While we were shopping, another friend called us to ask if we wanted to watch the Japanese animation movie, Sen to Chihiro no kamikakushi, at Toronto Film Festival. We went to the movie theatre together, but there were so many people for the laftover tickets, and I was too sleepy to watch a movie. We gave up to watch the movie and went for coffee. When finally I got home around 6pm on Sat, I crushed on my bed and I didn't wake up until the next morning. I slept more than 12 hrs, but still so sleepy. I have to do laundry, cleaning, and grocery shopping. I have to move now.

Sep 5, ( a windy day)

いやーー眠い。まだ体が学生モードでないのでちょっと早起きして学校に行っただけでちょーつらいです。 今日はちょっと忙しかったです。朝８時から英語の授業があったんだけど、わたしのプログラムのオリエンテーションが９時からだったので、授業を途中で抜けてGビルディングへ。Humberに一年間もいるけどG ビルディングって聞いたことないなって思ったら、離れ小島みたいに隔離されたところでした。教室に入ると、うわーー男の子ばっか。３／４は男の子ですね、ちょっと喜んでたけど、よく見てみるとみんな異様に若い。説明会の途中で先生が高校でたての生徒はどれぐらいいるかって聞いた時、半分以上が手を上げたのでもショックだったのに、韓国人の女の子が私の年を聞いてきて、そんなに若くないよって言ったら。「わー私も・・だって２２だもん・・」真面目に殴ろうかと思ってしまいました。説明会は１２時ごろまで続き、終った時にはお腹ぺこぺこ。あんなにピザは当分いいって言ってたのについ買って食べた私が怖い。＜br＞さて週末は授業に向けてお買い物をしないと・・わたしのリストによると・・鉄板入り安全ブーツ、ヘルメット、ゴーグル・・・いやーーん、大学時代に逆戻りっていうか土方として今すぐ働けそうですね。さて、明日も早いのでねます。 2002年09月06日 10時27分34秒

Sep03, (the first day of fall semester)

I became lazier than I though after this loooooooooooong summer holiday. Today, I had to take the ESL class from 8am, so I woke up 5:30am. First, I thought it was still in the middle of night when I woke up. I crawled out from my bed and took shower. I tried to put my school stuff into my backbag, but I couldn't remember what I need fro the class. I just remembered thatmy teacher told me to bring the English-English dictionary and pen. When I noticed it was already 10 to 7 o'clock. I run to the nearest street car stop. This morning, the bus came to pick the passengers up instead of the streetcar. It was very usual, so I didn't care anything. However, the bus skipped Dandas West stn, and it went to Keele stn. Most people on the bus were so surprised. When I got off the bus, I saw the notice. It said we had to use Keele stn because of the constraction of the bus terminal at Dandas west stn until Nov. Nov.........why will it take 2 months!!!!!!!!!When I got Kipling stn. I saw tons of students were waiting for the bus to my college. I wondered if we all could get on the one bus. I was right. The bus driver left one-third students at the station. I was lucky to get on the first bus. Then, when we got alomst the college, the bus was stopped. To go to the college, the bus had to turn left from Hwy 27 to Humber Blvd. Many students and teachers come to school by their car, and they have to find parking places. There were a huge line up to make turn left because of that. We could see the college, but we had to wait 15 more mins in the humid and hot bus. I woke up at 5:30am, but still I was late for the class for 5mins. It is not fair : ( School was in Caos. New students were everywhere. One of my friends had to pay some money at the registration centre, but she had to wait for 2 hours. When she got the waiting ticket, 180 students were waiting before her. Sep 1, ( Two years anniversary)

トロントに来て今日でちょうど２年目です。早いもんですね。ということで日記も１年たちました。たいした進歩もありませんが元気にやってます。 今日は激ねむです。とういのは、今日の朝６時にバスでシカゴから帰ってきたんですね。９時まで電車も動かなかったのでTim hortonでお茶してました。家に帰ってこの１２時間バスの旅の疲れを癒そうと思ったんですが、いきなり頭の上で航空ショーが始まりなかなか寝れず、まだ眠いです。 シカゴの貧乏バス旅行は楽しかったです。片道１２時間で向こうに着いたのは朝の６時でした。全く行き当たりばったりだったので、自分達がどこにいるのかも分かってなく、ホテルの場所も怪しかったです。電話をして場所をきき、何とか到着。眠たかったけどもったいないのでそのまま市内へ。朝マックをしながら計画を練ってると、隣にいた警察官が親切にいろんな情報を教えてくれました。特にBule man groupのことを聞いといてほんとに良かったです。ペンティアム４のCMにでてる全身を青く塗った３人組のパフォーマンスなんですがほんとに面白い。ちょっとドラムをたたきまくる電撃ネットワーク系。当日券が半額で買えるチケットセンターを教えてもらい、さっそく見に行きました。ほんとにお薦めのショウです。トロントにこないかな。３日しかなかったのであとは駆け足でしたが、Sears towerや美術館めぐりをしてきました。シカゴはジャズの町なのでジャズフェスティバルやバーめぐりもしてきました。シカゴは観光に力を入れてるのか？無料のトロリーバスが走ってたり、いろんなお店で割引があるクーポンがもらえたり、結構節約できました。最後の日は有名なChicagoピザを食べにいきました。これがまたすごくて、厚さ４センチの激厚ピザ。５口目でお腹がいっぱいに。それから２０時間なにも食べれませんでした。おそるべし。３人でミディアム分けたのに、食べれなかった。そのあとはトロントまでの１２時間のたび。バスが混んでてよく寝れなかった。 ということで夏休み最後の旅行も終わり。新学期がはじまるぞー。 2002年09月02日 13時34分07秒
