AW..... this week is awful. I would have melted by this weekend. Yesterday, I watched "Road to Perdition". It was very depressing story. My friend and I cried, of course. Tom Hanks put some weight again. He should do "Cast Away" for a diet.The story was quite simple. Jude Law played a very odd character. He was a press and assassin....so scary.It was an okey movie. Today, SLP students went to the Royal Ontario Museum, but I didn't go. I have been there so many times..so no more. Instead og going there, I helped Nancy to make EAP BBQ handouts. I put some funny pictures of students and the dean of English learning office. When we did EAP BBQ party last time, we forced the Dean to wear the funny Canadian hat, and we took a picture of him. I used the picture this time for the handouts. Nancy and I had funnier idea. We made a special handout only for him. We put his face on the Irish dancer's picture. It was really really funny. I thought I was going to choke myself by laughing. Tomorrow, there will be a presentation night. I am going to play something. I hope I can do well. 2002年08月01日 12時05分20秒 |

あついいいいいいいい・・・・・もう扇風機じゃ限界があるよぅ。夜も寝苦しくて寝れないし。こんなときだけ冷房完備のレジデンスに住みたいなって思ってます。学校にいってるときが一番幸せ！ 日曜日はローマ法王のMassがDownsviewパークであるとのことで、これはダウンダウンにでたら大変なことになると思い、いつのもお掃除・洗濯の後は家でおとなしくしてました。テレビで見たら、大変なことになってたけど。８０万人のカソリック信者が徹夜組も含めMassに参加してたようです。明け方は雷雨だったのにご苦労様です。 World youth dayも昨日で終わり、やっとダウンタウンが静かになると思ったら、今度は皆さんお帰りで、空港までの道のりが大変なことになってます。１９２AirportRocket大増発してました。早く落ち着くといいんだけど。 明日は映画を久々に見にいけるかな？見たいのはいっぱいなんだけど、トムハンクスの新しい映画Road to perditionが見てみたいです。Austin powers3は気になるけど、誰も見に行ってくれないから・・・。 2002年07月30日 12時18分02秒 |

Today, I went to Wasaga beach as an international trip. Even though it is Sat, I woke up at the same time that I go to school.Then I got Humber college at 9am. It took 2 hrs to get Wasaga beach from there. When we were on the school bus, it was really hot, but it was getting cooler at the beach. Wasaga beach was a huge beach beside the lake Elie(I think). There were about 30,000people there. my friends and I bought some tubes at the store beside the lake. Before we went swimming, we had lunch with some beer (^o^)at Friendly Greek. Finally, when we went to the beach, the weather turned to be cool. We did swim anyway...it was a bit cold, but we enjoyed floating with our tubes. Then it became windy and very cold around 4pm. We still had one more hour when the bus picked us up. We were freezing..... Then just 10 mins before we got on the bus, the weather was getting better. I think God doesn't like us. We came back to school around 7pm. The problem was that there was no 191 bus on Sat night. So we had to take another way to get home... It took 2hrs to get home. I am so sleepy right now. Thank god.... today is Sat. If today were Sundey, I would be dead at school on Monday. There is the Sunday mass with Roman pope tomorrow. 今日は気持ちよかった！！暑すぎもせず、むしむししてないし。ちなみに今日は水曜日なので、課外授業でArt Gallary of Ontario(AGO)に行ってきました。ダウンタウンのど真ん中に在るとのことで、みんな美術館で課題をしなきゃいけないということをすっかり忘れ、早く終らせて買い物に行くことだけを考えてました。 何を美術館でしなきゃいけないかというと、４人組になり、各自好きなアーティストを選び、その人について調べ、美術館に行った時絵の前でちょっとしたプレゼンテーションをすると・・・私はカナダの代表的な風景画家Emily Carrについて。ちょっと暗めな感じの絵だけど、ビクトリアやバンクーバーを思い出して好きなんです。もう一つの課題は特別展示をしているWilliam Wegmanの作品について感想文を書くこと。彼はファッション写真家なんですが、モデルが人間じゃなくてウェイマラナーっていう灰色の大型犬。それがちょーーーーかわいいの。かつらかぶってたり、ハイヒールを履いてたり、ビキニをきてたり。変な話だけど、その犬たちは人間のモデルに劣らず、すごくセクシーできれい。クラスメートの犬好きPilarは異様に興奮してたけど。 私とクラスメートは気合でこの課題を１時間半で終らせて、そのままチャイナタウンに直行！！Chinese-QuebecoisのソフィーはやっとBBQダックが食べれると大興奮。変える頃には食べ物で両手がいっぱいになってました。彼女は広東語・フランス語・英語がしゃべれるのでほんと怖い文無しです。私はただひたすら感心するばかり。 学校のみんなは４時にスクールバスでHumberに帰っていきましたが、わたしは他の友達と待ち合わせしてコリアンタウンへ。Atichaお気に入りカムチャッタン（直訳するとポテトスープだけど、ほんとは骨付き肉の辛いスープ)。辛すぎて残念ながら私は食べれないけど、みんなが異様にはまってて毎週でも食べたいって言ってるからおいしいに違いない。あたしは・・・トッポギと餃子スープを食べました。それもおいしかったし、なんてったって５ドルだから。 あーー宿題しなきゃ。 2002年07月25日 13時17分20秒 |

It is really hot,steamy, and sticky day today. I was woken up by lightning this morning. Then I got school, it was very bright. At the lunch time, it was lightning again from the blue sky. Then it started raining. it was just strange...the steamy air was killing me. Roman pope will come to Toronto for the World Youth Day. Therefore, so many people started gathering in Toronto right now. On the way to home, I was surrounded by teen-agers that were wearing the same yellow t-shirts. They suddenly started singing church choirs... I was scared in the different way. My Japanese friend will stay here from Tomorrow for a week because her apertment is available from Aug 1st. ちょっと曇っててむしむしするいやーーな感じの日です。朝っぱらから昨日やり残したお掃除や洗濯、お買い物してたら一日終りました。今日も非生産的な一日です。でもBook report用の本が進んだのはよかったけど。 もともと日本にいるときから本を読むのが好きだったんですが。特に文学的なものを読んでるわけでもなく、ミステリーやファンタジー系をもっぱら読んでます。レジデンスに住んでる日本人の女の子が私の大好きな村上春樹を貸してくれるので、久々に「ノルウェイの森」を読み返しちゃいました。英語の本ではHarry Potterにはまってるのもちろんのこと、最近のお気に入りはLemony SnicketのA series of Unfortunate Events。多分７−８巻まで出てると思うんだけど、読みやすい上に、限りになく不幸な話で面白い。ちょっと分からないフレーズや単語は話の中で分かりやすく説明してくれるし、初めて英語の本を読む方にお薦めです。友達が読み終わったからと理由でくれた、スティーブンキングのHearts in Atrantisは・・・難しい。軽く半年ぐらいかかりそうな勢いです。 街はローマ法王が来るとのことで盛り上がってますが、お写真を見るたびにぐったりしてて心配しちゃいますが、この暑さの中がんばって強行スケジュールこなしてください。 2002年07月22日 10時58分58秒 |

I am very relaxed today. Recently, I was so busy for the Summer Language Program. Also I had many things to do at weekend, too. On Friday, my firneds and I went to China town again. It was two days in a row. We went to a Chinese restaurant for dinner. I really love a Chinese congee(Okayu) with salted donuts. My friends ordered Soya chicken on rice as usual. That is my second favorite. After that, we went to shop some stuff at a Chinese supermaket because many of my classmates asked me buy fruit for them. Especially, Mexican students wanted lime because they want to drink tequira. We went down to Queen st for walking around after that. Then we ended up the one of bars on Queen st. I had never been to the bar before, but it was a nice bar. Thw waitress that served us was very cheerful and kind. I will go back there for sure. Today, I really didn't wanna go out, so I stayed at home for cleaning and studying. However, I started to watch one of movie video tapes....so I have to clean my room tomorrow, too. あつい・・・・・本気でとろけますね今日は。昨日も暑かったんだけど、今日は最低に暑い。最近ちょっと涼しかったから喜んでたのに。ちなみに昨日はスピルバーグの新しい映画、トムクルーズ主演「Minority report」を見てきました。すごく面白かった、予想以上でしたね・ちょっと会話が難しかったけど、何とか気合で２時間半がんばりました。日本で公開されてるのかしら？是非是非見てください。 今日は普通の授業はなくて、みんなでオンタリオサイエンスセンターに行ってきました。ちょっと期待してたんですけど・・・何がいやって見渡す限り、子供、子供、子供・・・・・・いやーーーん。展示物で遊びたくても、子供を押しのけるしかなくて、ちょっといやでした。結構広くて回りきれなかったし。はーーレポートも書かなくちゃいけないのよね。 学校に戻った後は、ご飯を食べて、今日はゼリー早食い競争とChubby bunnyコンテストがありました。ゼリーは手を使わずに口で吸い込んでたべます。私も出たんだけど、負けました。Chubby bunny（デブのうさぎ）コンテストは口にマシュマロを一個ずつ入れて、そのたびに「チャビーバニー」って言うんだけど、口に入ってるマシュマロは噛んじゃいけなくって、声が出なくなったら失格。もうみんなで大笑い。すごい顔なんだもん。楽しかったです。 さて明日も早いので、寝ますか。 2002年07月18日 12時17分46秒 |

| I was a kind of busy on this weekend. I just survived the first week of SLP, and I was so tired. I wanted to sleep as much as possible, but there was the school trip to go to Canada's wonderland this weekend. It is the most favorite place in Toronto for me. I love to ride on jet coasters. It was very hot hot day on Sunday. Even though it was the ideal day for playing at the water parks, it was too hot for waiting in the line for rides. Moreover, some of my friends didn't bring their bathing suits, so my friends and I just swan for one hour. There were two new water slides this year. I tried one of them, and it was really really fun!!! I rode many coasters, too. I felt dizzy afterwards.... I wanna go back there again this summer...if I have some time. |

外は３０度とそれなりに暑いのに、教室はきっと１５度ぐらいしかないに違いない。夏なのにみんなセーターやジャケットを着ないと、教室で凍えちゃうし。おかげでみんな風邪気味です。毛布でももって行きたい気分だけど。 やっと第一週が終りました。前回で慣れてたとはいえ、やっぱり１０時ごろに家に帰って、次の日６時おきの生活はちとつらいです。クラスのほうもなかなか順調です。前回が私以外の生徒が全員ケベック出身だったのにたいして、今回は半分ケベック、半分メキシコ出身で、残りはわたしと台湾出身の女の子。そのため、クラスの感じはがらっと違います。年齢も幅広いしね。ひとり、これは３０いってるだろうと思った男の子は２１だったし・・・ケベックの女の子Marie-Eveはあたしの名前をTattoで足にいれてるし。そんなに私のこと好きなのかとどきどきしちゃいました。１週間目にしていきなりカップル誕生だし・・はえーーな、若者はええの・・。 ちなみに今週末は一年ぶりのワンダーランドです。ジェットコールたー乗りまくり！！！！！お天気も３０度と上場だし。楽しみ！ 2002年07月13日 11時26分58秒 |

It was the first day of Summer language program part2. I was at level 5 last time, which was the highest class, so I had no choice this time. I had to take the same level again. Of course, my teacher,Tanya, is the same as the last time.... She bugs me whenever I don't remember somethings that she taught at the last class.....aw...... I have to study a lot again. We also had the class olympics today. We practiced the class cheer, which we sucked very much, for the games. The idea was really good and funny, but we didn't remember how to do that. My classmates are very funny this time, too. The youngest student is 16yrs... When I heard it, I was really shocked. I think I can have a lot of fun time with them!! 2002年07月11日 11時12分15秒 |

さて今週末はなかなか忙しかったんですけど、昨日はここに来てから何度目かもう忘れましたが、ナイアガラに行ってきました。初めてトロントに来た人を連れてくのってあそこしかないもよね・・。今回はナイアガラオンザレイクにも回りたかったので、レンタカーを借りたんだけど、日曜日にやってるレンタカーショップがが空港内のお店しかなくて、朝っぱらから空港に行く羽目に。車を借りて出発した時にはもう１１時。いざナイアガラへ！！ところがあとナイアガラまでもうちょっという所で、道路がむちゃむちゃ混み始めて、ハイウェイを降りたところからピクリとも動かない。事故でも起きたのかと思ってたけど、いやにアメリカのナンバープレートをつけた車ばっかりだし・・実はレインボーブリッジを渡る車の列が２−３ｋｍつながってたんだけど、私達はナイアガラに行く道がそんなに混んでるのかと思って、これはやばいと思ってました。でも勇気を出してちょっと抜け道したら、何のことはないあっという間に滝に到着。ここまできたらお約束の「霧の乙女号」コースです。気分は台風中継で防波堤に立ってるリポーター気分、もうずぶぬれ。暑かったから気持ちよかったけど。その後「Behind the fallsツアー」に行くつもりだったんだけど、あまりに混んでたのであきらめて、いざNiagara on the lakeへ。この街の周辺には有名なオンタリオワインのワイナリーがあって工場見学が出来るんだけど、ちょっと行ったのが遅くてほとんど閉まってました。一ヶ所たまたま見つけたワイナリーは夜間のツアーもやってて、ちょっとしたTastingや貯蔵庫、ブドウ畑ツアーなどかなり楽しかったです。説明によると去年の暖冬のおかげでアイスワインの生産量は減ってしまったらしいのですが、他のワインは上々との事。ちょっとワインの飲み方のコツも教えてもらい、いっぱしソムリエ気分でした！今度はもっと時間をかけていろんなワイナリーを巡りたいですね。ナイアガラオンザレイクのダウンタウンで夕飯を食べ、トロントについたのは１１時近く。そこから車を空港まで返しに行き、家に着いたのは１時過ぎ・・ちょっとへとへとでしたが楽しかったです。 今日はSLPサマーセッションの始まり始まり。私はテストを受ける必要はないので、もっぱら校舎内で迷ってる生徒を教室まで連れてくのがお仕事。３階まで行ったり来たりで結構いい運動になりました。今回はFrench-CanadianとSpanishの生徒が多くてちょっとアジア系って所でしょうか。もちろん日本人は私一人です。また間違った日本の印象を教えることになりそう・・・。明日はDowntownウォーキングツアー。今回は・・勘弁してください。 2002年07月09日 13時02分58秒 |

I went drinking last night and got drunk as usual, so I crushed on my bed as soon as I got home.... I must be excited because I hadn't gone drinking for ages. I met a new friend yesterday. She is Andy's friend, and she just came here from Japan 2 days ago. Now, she is staying at B & B, so she have to find the place to stay first. I didn't need to go to school yesterday, so I met her at noon and tried to find her room together. When I found my place, I was really lucky. I just found the ad and called them up. I decided immediately when I saw the room. Yesterday, we saw two apartments. One was big and had a nice kitchen and bathroom, but the celing was too low. Although I am short, I almost hit my head. The other room hadn't any kitchen. The JP girl looked so tired.... she said,"I had to find a room; otherwise,I will be a home less...". She got other 2 appointments on this weekend. I hope she can find her apartment soon. Molson Indy car racing has been started at Exhibision place. Even thought my house is not close to the place,I can hear the noise of the car racing here. あつーーぅ。昨日はおかげさまで全然寝れませんでした。英語のExpressionでI am sweating like a pigてのがあるんだけど、まさにその通り。あつすぎるぅ。このままでは寝不足と脱水症状で死んでしまうと思い、扇風機を買うとを決心。前々から目をつけてたZellersの２０ドルの扇風機を購入。しかしみなさんも同じことを考えたらしく、駅からお店までの間に最低でも１０人ぐらいの人が新しい扇風機を抱えて歩いてました。家に帰って説明書と格闘すること１５分。とっても快適です。 今日は学校で写真撮影の日でした。今度のEnglish learning centreのカタログの写真なので出来上がればそれこそ世界中へ・・・。へっへ。わたしは午後の部で、教室で勉強してるところと、コーヒーショップで買い物してるところと、レジデンスでおしゃべりしている写真を取りました。取った写真をメールで送ってくれるとのことなので楽しみです。 昨日書いたとおり、トロントはごみの回収をするOutside workersがストライキ中で街がすごいことになってますが、もし市長がこのまま何も解決の話し合いをしないならInside workersもストライキしてやると、もう訳が分かりません。こちらのストライキは始まると長いのが玉にキズ。去年のバンクーバーのバスストライキも４ヶ月ぐらい続いてたし。早く終ってくれないと街がくさくて・・。プールとかも閉鎖されてるし。 今日は快適に寝れるかな♪ 2002年07月04日 10時40分11秒 |

I was waken up because of this heat wave. The highest temp today was 34C...where am I now. I am supposed to be in North America. Before I came here, I though summer would be cooler in Canada than in Japan...... but I was wrong.... My friend that just came here the day before said it was 20C in Japan. I should have gone back to Japan. I just went to school because there are A/Cs. I felt like I was in heaven at school. I didn't want to come back to my room, but I had to.. There is another problem in Toronto. Now, outside gorvernmental workers go strike. The ferry that goes to Toronto island stopped. There is no gabage pick-up, too. That is really really serious problem. Gabage is all over in the city. The official said the strike would last by Sep.... NOOOOOOOOOOOOO...... Now, the world cup game is over. There are no hockey games either. Moreover, Cujo(The goalie of Toronto maple leafs) will leave Maple leafs. What should I watch during summer?? 2002年07月03日 09時32分54秒 |

今日はカナダのお誕生日です。Happy birthday Canada!!と言うわけで、何もかもがお休みです。スーパーすらやってないので、買い物も出来ません。でも困ったときのChina town頼みなので、食べ物だけは大丈夫です。 ちなみに昨日はゲイパレードに行ってきました。今年はパレードの最終地点近くで見たんですけど、とにかく暑い。陰とかが全くなくて、しかも場所とりで一時間ぐらい立ってたのでもうふらふら。今年はuncensor（制限なし）だと聞いてたのでちっと期待してたのですが、去年のほうが面白かったかも。相変わらずちょーーーかっこいい人がいたけど、ゲイなのよね（泣）。パレードに出てる人や見てる人は大きな水鉄砲をもってて所かまわず打ちまくるんだけど、昨日はあまりの暑さにこっちから撃ってくれと頼む始末。気持ちよかったけど。その後はみんなでBubble teaを飲みに行きました。 今日は朝はお洗濯に追われてましたが、午後から友達と夜に花火大会があるOntario placeに行ってきました。ラジオ局主催のコンサートもやっててなかなか盛況でした。大家さんに自転車を借りたので、うちから２０分ぐらいかけてレイクショアをお散歩、今日は本当に気持ちよかったです。花火は・・・・・友達のうちで見る予定だったんだけど。おしゃべりに夢中で見逃しました。今日行った意味は？ 明日はそんなに暑くないといいんだけど。 2002年07月02日 13時50分14秒 |
