Travel note in Persia 13, The carpet museum
One day we went to the carpet museum in Tehran. They are collected only the carpets of the extreme high class of the antique used in the royal palace.
As for the value of the carpet, the fineness of the gauge is important though the color and the design are important.
They are written product place, manufacturing year, design name, size and the gauge in each carpet of the museum.
The ones of small gauge is as thin as we get surprised at them. It is said that even the one which width is 10 meters can be folded in compact size.
They said OK even if we brought a camera and took a photo when we asked for it in the entrance.
It seemed to be pictures completely more than carpets. They are a portrait and a landscape unlike the design of the geometrical pattern generally used.
They lusted beautifully because most is silk. It doesn't seem to be an antique. It is made by the skillful craftman for many years.
I heard that many of carpet craftmen are girls. It is the most suitable that a little girls thin finger weave the carpet of small gauge.
It takes no less than many years to make the carpet of excellent silk. The children like infant girls and young girls weave one carpet many years.
Chador
It became the end of July and very hot. However, I did not feel severe heat though sunlight was strong because there is no damp like Japan.
They are calm even if women wear coats or Chador because it dries. There is no unpleasant that the clothes are stuck to the body because the sweat dries soon.
I got very thirsty outside. so we often went to fresh juice stand which were many in Tehran. Banana shake made us refreshed and pleasant.
I noticed it is better to wear Chador or long sleeves coats to avoid strong sunlight. The Islam law was born from the wisdom to avoid heat rather than compulson of the religion. I became more interested in their culture.
