HAEMONCHOSIS

Cause : Haemonchus

Transmission : Ingestion of contaminated pasture with infected larvae.


Clinical signs
:
-Severe anemia and edemia, weakness, inappetence and have a staggering gait.
-Adult worms are found in abomasum and intestinal contents.

Recommendation :
-Strategic deworming to reduce worm population.
-Rotational grazing and zero grazing management.
-Forage / legume and high protein content concentrate supplementation.
