Protein Deficiency

Cause : Poor pasture, Non-legume forages


Transmission : None. This is purely physical and envirinmental related condition.


Clinical signs and lesions :
  • Retaeted growth
  • Reduced weight
  • Low milk production
  • Emaciation
  • Weakness
  • Estrus becomes irregular and delayed conception
  • Difficult parturition and retained placenta


Recommendation :

  • Feeding or grazing on improved pasture to include legimes.
  • Provide high protein feed concentrates.
