Sarcosporidiosis

Cause : Sarcocystis cruzi

Transmission :

  • Ingestion of uncooked infected meat and sarcocystis in contaminated pasture
  • Shedding of infected sporocysts in the feces of carnivores.
  • Affects human.


Clinical signs and lesions
:
  • Fever
  • Inappetence
  • Diarrhea
  • Mild muscle spasms and hyperexcitability
  • Cows in the last trimester of pregnancy may abort.


Recommendations : Dogs and other carnibores should no be allowed to eat dead animals.
