| Snake bite |
Local name : Naboritog sang mana-ug. Naluko sang halas,
Napaalan ug ahas, Nalagat ng ahas.

Cause : Venomous Snakes. |
Clinical signs and lesions :
- Venomos may produce prolonged intence pain.
- Muscular weakness
- Shock
- Swelling around the wounds.
- Paralysis
- Edema
- Cyanosis
- Anemia
- Necrosis of tissue
- If a limb has been struck, the swelling causes
lameness.
- Severe bacterial infection are sometimes
sequel to snake bites.

Recommendation :
- Immediately, bitten animals should be placed
at rest and clip the hair from the wounds.
- If a bite is on the limb, put a wide torniquet
two inches above the site of the bite. The
torniquet must not be so tight as to arrest
arterial circulation. It should be released
every 15-20 minutes for a period of 1 of
2 minutes.
- In case of a bite that tourniquet is impractical
to apply, fangs wounds should be enlarge
with leneal incision paralleling the blood
supply. Suction should be applied to the
incision for at least 30 minutes. Ordinary
rubber suction cups should be used and never
employed oral suctions for danger of acquiring
the venom.
- Anti-shock (Dexamethazone, Predonizorone)
injection is nessesary if available.
