TRYPASONOMASIS

Cause : Trypanosoma evansi
|
Transmission : Mechanically transmitted by
artropod vectors.
|
Clinical Signs and lesions :
I
- n acute cases, fever, rapid loss of weight,
edema conjunstivitis, anemia, abortion, prostrations
and death may occur.
- In chronic infections, the animals may recover
spontaneiusly or it may transform into a
latent form and few parasites are demonstrated
on routine blood examination with the animals
being apparently healthy.

Recommendations :
- Frequent spraying and dipping of animals
with insecticides as well as on fly breeding
areas.
- Prophylactic drigs maybe used.
- Good nutrition and avoid stress especially
to working animals.
