21日に今回は市場から買ってきました、クリスマスツリー｡(伝統的に、種類は国産トウヒ)　航一は一回触って、葉が刺さったのにびっくりして後ずさり、それ以後近寄らなくなりました。本能ですねぇ。

Christmas peace. Traditionally on Christmas Eve's noon, Finns watch (or go there if they live closer) TV programme, that on the opposite side of Turku's central church, they play Finnish national anthem "Maamme (Our country)" (people sing as far as they can. but not usually in Swedish part! he, he!), then the person reads out wishes for Christmas both in Finnish and Swedish. クリスマスイブには、トゥルクの大聖堂反対側にある建物(何の建物だったか忘れました、、)のバルコニーから、どこぞの偉い人がクリスマスの平和を祈念して毎年同じスピーチを読上げます。そして国歌を皆で歌います。ちゃんとした紳士はここで帽子をどんなに寒くても!取ります。フィンランド国歌はなんと4番ぐらいまであります。そこまで行くとさすがに覚えてる人も少なくなり、歌う声も小さくなってくると言う、、学校で歌詞は全部習うそうですが。

姑たちの家でクリスマスディナーテーブル。

Finnish Christmas ham. Always family's oldest man cuts this for others.  This ham is put in oven over 12 hours to be ready.  Joulu Kinkku(クリスマスハム)　ブタの腿肉の塩漬けをオーブンで12時間。(6kgサイズでこれ位)上にはマスタードを塗りつけてあります。切り分けるのは一家の長の仕事。

Christmas foods afterwards..... We brought back lots of left-over(!?) foods from parents' place. clockwise from left, meatballs, raw FINNISH salmon filet with dills, red beats salad, smoked white fish, Christmas ham, open sand of fish raw mixed with cream and chopped onions.

今日の私のランチ。義理の両親宅から余ったのでたくさん貰ってきたクリスマスの食べ物。。。左上から時計回りに、大鹿のミンチで作ったミートボール、フィンランドのサーモン刺身？ディル添え、Rosolliという赤蕪(あかかぶ)の酢漬けサラダ、Siikaという白身魚のスモーク、クリスマスハムのスライス、イクラ(フィンランドでは色んな魚の魚卵を食べます)とクリーム、胡椒、タマネギのみじん切りを合わせたものを乗っけた硬いパンのサンド。あ、各種グラタンは皿に乗らなかったので撮れませんでした。。。塩味のものが多いので後でかなり喉が乾きます。

旦那の部下から貰った花束。画像の質を落としたので見えにくいんですが金色の糸を網のようにかけてあってきれいなんです。花束はフィン語でkimppu.

お隣のおばあさんは毎年息子さんに手伝ってもらって庭にツリーを飾ります。これだと乾燥しにくく、葉っぱも長く持つんだそう。
